Google has recently concluded its highly anticipated Made by Google 2025 event, where the tech giant made a series of significant announcements. The event was uniquely hosted by Jimmy Fallon, adding a dash of entertainment to the proceedings. Amidst the star-studded lineup, the spotlight remained on the much-anticipated Pixel 10 series. Notably, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold emerged as a standout, equipped with cutting-edge advancements that aim to redefine industry standards for foldable smartphones.
Introducing the Pixel 10 Pro Fold: A Notable Contender
The unveiling of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold marked a pivotal moment in the foldable smartphone arena, poised to challenge Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. Rather than opting for radical design changes, Google focused on enhancing the existing features, resulting in improved durability, performance, and display quality. This keen attention to refinement has led to a well-crafted device that balances style and function.
At first glance, users may recognize the familiar design reminiscent of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but subtle enhancements improve ergonomics, making it more user-friendly. While the new model is 0.3mm thicker than its predecessor, it is slightly narrower, thanks to an innovative gearless hinge. These modifications contribute significantly to ease of handling, complemented by the premium look afforded by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back panel and frame, reinforcing the phone’s durability.

Addressing the longstanding concerns surrounding the longevity of foldable devices, Google has made a bold move by incorporating an IP68 rating, ensuring comprehensive water and dust resistance. This innovation brings peace of mind to users, eliminating worries about dust ingress and accidental slips. Additionally, Google claims that the new hinge is designed to withstand up to 180, 000 folds, equating to nearly a decade of daily use—an impressive advancement aimed at dispelling doubts about the durability of foldable smartphones.
Powering the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is Google’s Tensor G5 chip paired with a robust 16GB of RAM, which enables exceptional performance and sophisticated AI functionality. Features like Magic Cue proactively present relevant information, enhancing the user experience. The inclusion of intuitive features such as drag-and-drop further facilitates multitasking capabilities, allowing users to manage multiple applications seamlessly.

In terms of display specifications, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold boasts an impressive 8-inch inner display alongside a 6.4-inch outer screen, with the inner display achieving brightness levels of up to 3, 000 nits. This feature ensures vibrant visibility even in direct sunlight. Furthermore, the device is backed by a powerful 5, 015 mAh battery, promising up to 30 hours of usage—an answer to the common battery life woes in foldable devices.
Google has also adopted the Qi2 wireless charging standard alongside the introduction of the innovative Pixelsnap ecosystem, which includes magnetic accessories designed to enhance wireless charging alignment. The device supports charging speeds of up to 25W, providing a quick and efficient charging experience. Additionally, the camera setup features a versatile triple rear camera system consisting of a 48MP wide lens, a 10.5MP ultrawide lens with macro capabilities, and a 10.8MP telephoto lens, facilitating stunning photography with the aid of AI enhancements.
While the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is now available for pre-order, deliveries will commence on October 9th to ensure that the final product is flawless. The base model, featuring 256GB of storage and 16GB of RAM, is priced at $1, 799, which remains consistent with the pricing of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google also provides options for expanded storage, with 512GB and 1TB variants available at a premium.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold introduces two fresh color options, Moonstone and Jade, moving away from the more conservative hues of earlier models. With this launch, Google signals that foldable smartphones are no longer mere experiments; they have evolved into dependable, long-lasting devices, setting a promising standard for the future of mobile technology.
