“Internet’s Reaction: King Von’s Nephew Calls Gunna ‘Uncle’ Despite Perception of Hatred Towards Rats”

In an unexpected turn of events, the online community expressed a flurry of reactions after Grand Babii, King Von’s nephew, was seen with rapper Gunna, affectionately calling him “Uncle.”

On October 29, 2024, Grand Babii took to Instagram to post a snapshot featuring himself alongside Gunna, who placed his arm over Babii’s shoulder as they struck a pose. In the post’s caption, Babii referred to Gunna as “uncle”—

“Uncle Gunna event today @gunna 💙🅿️,”Babii wrote.

This unforeseen camaraderie has sparked much debate among fans across social media platforms like X. Many users remarked that they believed King Von had an aversion to “rats,”in a nod to Gunna’s connections with Lil Durk, who was associated with the homicide case involving King Von.

“I thought Von despised rats,”one user commented.

Several users humorously chimed in, sharing memes and witty remarks that alluded to a deep-seated “real love” between the artists —

“Real love right there,”one user commented.

“The family tree just got a bit more interesting 😂,”another user remarked.

“Lmafo if Von were here,”said a netizen.

Conversely, some users on X pointed out that using the term “uncle” isn’t problematic, noting that due to Grand Babii’s youth, it makes sense for him to refer to someone like Gunna as “uncle.”

“No matter the situation, he sees Gunna as his uncle, and I can respect that,”one user expressed.

“As a kid, I called everyone Unc too,”another user noted.

“Should he call him daddy then? 😕,”quipped another.

Amid these lighthearted exchanges, this incident has managed to momentarily divert attention from the serious ongoing matters surrounding King Von’s murder case and the recent apprehension of one of Lil Durk’s associates linked to the alleged crime.

Meanwhile, Gunna has not yet offered his perspective on the conversation unfolding online.

Lil Durk Taken into Custody in Connection with King Von’s Murder Case

As reported by NPR, Lil Durk was arrested on October 24, 2024, near Miami International Airport facing federal charges. Law enforcement officials alleged that he orchestrated a retaliatory attack in 2022 aimed at rapper Quando Rondo at a gas station in Los Angeles, resulting in the death of Rondo’s cousin.

Moreover, according to Variety, alongside Lil Durk, five members from his Only The Family collective, which he established in 2010, were also apprehended. The individuals have been identified as Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.

Martin Estrada, the United States Attorney for Los Angeles, provided a comprehensive overview of the shooting in an official announcement, confirming that it occurred at a gas station in a public area —

“The shooting transpired in plain sight, at a gas station situated at a bustling intersection, posing a risk to many bystanders in the vicinity. Acts of violent gun crime like this are devastating for our community, and we will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for those engaging in such cruel acts of violence,”Estrada stated.

The affidavit from Corcoran and other federal court documents cited by NPR indicated that the incident was triggered by a confrontation involving King Von and members of Quando Rondo’s crew, reportedly over personal disputes.

The situation escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in gunfire. The affidavit further alleged that Lil Durk instructed one of his associates to book a flight without using his name.

As reported by Variety, all five of Durk’s associates are facing charges of conspiracy and utilizing interstate services to carry out a murder-for-hire plot that led to a fatality.

Additional counts include possession, carrying, and discharge of firearms and machine guns, as well as illegal possession linked to a violent crime resulting in death.

Among the five associates implicated in the alleged murder case of King Von, Jones and Houston had their hearings set in Chicago on Monday. Meanwhile, Grant, Wilson, and Lindsey waived their rights to a hearing and will be transferred to Los Angeles, according to the New York Post.

As per NPR, Lil Durk remains in custody as he awaits his trial.
