On October 24, Lil Durk, the founder of OTF, was apprehended and charged with murder-for-hire, as indicated by police documentation obtained by XXL. The rapper from Chicago is currently detained in Broward County Jail, Florida.
Just hours prior to Lil Durk’s arrest, five additional OTF members were taken into custody and charged with murder-for-hire in connection with the 2022 homicide of Saviay’a Robinson, the cousin of Quando Rondo, in Los Angeles. The arrested individuals include David Brian Lindsey (known as Browneyez), Deandre Dontrell Wilson (recognized as DeDe), Asa Houston (also known as Boogie), Kavon London Grant (dubbed Vonnie), and Keith Jones (called Flacka).
Following their capture, online rumors began to circulate suggesting that some of these OTF members had purportedly started cooperating with authorities against Lil Durk. Many users on X expressed their thoughts on the trending topic. Here are some notable comments:
“”Jam get out that jam, I gave him 50, ain’t gotta ask again.”- Lil Durk/ Only for OTF Jam to bite the cheese,”a user remarked.
“How did you get these transcripts so quickly? This has to be fake… be real…,”contrasted a user on X.
Some comments also focused on OTF Jam, who was rumored to have cooperated with authorities against Lil Durk.
“The streets know Lil Durk has rats in the OTF… OTF Jam, you’re a rat,”claimed another user.
“OTF Jam just finished a 12-year bid; I see why he might snitch,”noted another comment.
“If you aren’t snitching, you’re just foolish,”stated one commenter.
Another supporter described the situation as outrageous.
“This is crazy,”responded a fan.
“These informants are often unreliable and lack credibility, especially after that bald-headed guy lied about Thug to avoid FBI harassment. Let’s wait and see the evidence. The Feds are truly malicious,”commented another user.
Understanding the charges against five detained members of Lil Durk’s OTF
On October 24, federal authorities arrested five individuals associated with OTF for their reported involvement in the 2022 murder of rapper Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson. The group faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, allegedly as retaliation for the killing of former OTF member King Von.
King Von, whose real name was Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was shot dead on November 6, 2020, outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta after a confrontation with a rival faction that included Quando Rondo and Timothy “Lul Tim”Leeks. This altercation escalated into a gunfight, resulting in the deaths of King Von and two others.
Federal prosecutors assert that the slaying of Saviay’a Robinson in 2022 was an act of vengeance for King Von’s death. They argue that the shooting, which took place in August 2022, was a direct response to the events initiated by Lul Tim in 2020.
Authorities believe that Quando Rondo was the primary target during this attack; however, the shooting resulted in the tragic death of his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, who was 24 at the time. To clarify the circumstances, let’s revisit what happened on August 19, 2022.
A report from Fox 11 Los Angeles details that a white vehicle approached Quando Rondo’s black Cadillac Escalade at a gas station and opened fire. Although Rondo managed to escape, his cousin Saviay’a Robinson was shot and subsequently succumbed to his injuries, while Rondo himself emerged unharmed.
Federal agents further revealed that Kavon London Grant traveled to California to coordinate the operation, arranging for hotel accommodations, meals, vehicles bearing false license plates, and other logistical aspects necessary for their alleged plan.
As reported by TMZ, Keith Jones and Asa Houston are set to have their hearings in Chicago on Monday, while the remaining three individuals have opted for their hearings in Los Angeles, waiving their rights for a Chicago hearing.
