Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, known professionally as DJ Mustard, and his former spouse Chanel Thierry have successfully finalized their divorce settlement. As reported on Monday, October 14, 2024, by TMZ, DJ Mustard’s lawyer, Samantha Spector, played a pivotal role in securing significant assets for him, which include luxury cars and various properties.
The former couple shares legal custody of their three children, and DJ Mustard will be providing $24,500 per month in child support. Chanel is set to receive a one-time payment of $315,000 for spousal support, along with an additional equalization payment of $275,000.
Following the news of the divorce settlement, social media users expressed their shock and disbelief. One user, @Globalstats11, commented:
“They should have a cap on child support. 24k a month is hitman money.”
Many took to the internet to label the child support amount as “outrageous,”with skeptics suggesting that Chanel would keep the majority of the funds. Some commenters incorrectly assumed the couple had only one child. Here are a few remarks seen on X:
“why would you need $24,000 a month to support a single child?”one user posted.
“I find it ridiculous because you know damn well his baby momma is gonna be pocketing $24,000 of that each month,”another chimed in.

On the other hand, some users pointed out that critics of the amount or those blaming Chanel may not grasp the complexities of child support agreements.
“He most likely spent that much on them while they were together, you want the kids’ lifestyle to change?”a commenter said.

In the recent TMZ report, it was noted that DJ Mustard retains his collection of high-end vehicles, which features a 2022 Maybach Benz, a 2018 Lamborghini Aventador, a 2022 Cadillac Escalade, a 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and a 2019 Lamborghini Urus. He also keeps a vintage 1960 Chevy Impala, four motorcycles, and several Sea-Doo jet skis.
The settlement also guarantees that he keeps the Chatsworth, California mansion, along with other residential properties in Simi Valley and Los Angeles. Moreover, he maintains ownership of his music catalog.
Chanel Thierry, in contrast, will retain her business, Sleep Ova, which specializes in pajamas and loungewear, as well as a Tesla Model X.
The couple started dating at the age of 19, got engaged in 2018, and exchanged vows in October 2020. They are the parents of three kids: Kiylan, Kauner, and Kody.
DJ Mustard filed for divorce after less than 18 months of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
After the settlement news broke, Chanel Thierry expressed her feelings on Threads, revealing that the resolution was actually reached back in July but has only recently come to light. She wrote:
“Now, the week I turn the car back to its owner, all of my business is in the blogs. Of course, I know these things are public info, I got that part but the fact I knew you would be so petty to let everyone know you ‘took the car’ and acted as if my back child support was payment for the car, and it’s not.”
Chanel further criticized DJ Mustard for using PR tactics to portray her negatively for the past two years. She stated, “Please leave me alone and stop using me for publicity and record sales.”
She alleged that following DJ Mustard’s divorce filing in May 2022, he claimed he had cancer to manipulate her into staying. Chanel mentioned she did not vacate their shared residence until July of that year. She even shared screenshots of their conversations as evidence.
This isn’t the first incident where Chanel has accused DJ Mustard of attempting to tarnish her reputation. Last December, she shared on Threads:
“The world has watched you uplift me as a mother and wife and now because you decided to leave and try to replace me and it didn’t work, you want to demolish my name!? It’s disgusting. The nerve to have me fighting for custody because you are so bitter and don’t want to pay child support. I sat in the house for years watching the kids while you toured the world!”
In response to Chanel’s claims, DJ Mustard took to Instagram stories to write, “It’s been a year and a half man…”He shared a meme in which a man expresses frustration over being bothered with the caption “It won’t stop.”
Since their separation, DJ Mustard has been in a relationship with Brittany Stroud, and they welcomed a daughter earlier this year. He has yet to publicly address the latest developments.
