Internet Reacts to Aubrey O’Day’s 2013 Song About Diddy: “She Should’ve Just Printed the Lyrics”

Aubrey O’Day recently shared on her Instagram Stories on September 22, 2024, that she had penned a song about Sean “Diddy”Combs back in 2013. This announcement came after Diddy was arrested and denied bail in New York on serious charges including racketeering and sexual trafficking. Aubrey also took to social media to express her feelings about Diddy being incarcerated.

Although Aubrey’s Instagram stories have since vanished, she showcased a collage featuring herself and Diddy from two separate events where both artists wore white attire, with her song playing in the backdrop. She reiterated that she created the song in 2013.

Among the lyrics are the lines, “There’s no escape,”with further excerpts including:

“Would’ve learned a lesson/ Would have never got in/ I want to escape but there’s no way/ Covered up in death/ Everyone is left here feeling betrayed”

Users across various social media platforms shared screenshots of Aubrey’s story, resulting in a mix of trolling and curiosity about why the song was not available on music streaming services. Diddy, also known as Puff Daddy, was influential in Aubrey O’Day’s exit from Danity Kane. O’Day has been openly critical of Combs on several occasions, accusing him of trying to silence her.

Following his arrest on September 16, 2024, Aubrey took to social media to address his imprisonment in light of the federal investigation against the musician. She expressed feeling “validated”by his arrest, describing it as a victory for “women all over the world.”

“The purpose of Justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter. Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing,” Aubrey stated.

In addition to being accused of running a criminal enterprise, Combs also faces multiple civil lawsuits following allegations of sexual assault by several victims, the first being his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura.

“I never thought I would see this day”: Aubrey O’Day reacts to Diddy’s arrest

Sean Combs has faced numerous sexual assault allegations from women since 2009. Legal analysts predict that the musician could face up to 20 years in prison, although some speculate that he might negotiate a plea deal due to the strength of the prosecution’s evidence.

Aubrey O’Day discussed Combs’ arrest in an interview with TMZ, expressing her disbelief that she lived to see this day. She conveyed that his victims had suppressed their trauma to move forward.

“Not just me, but victims you don’t even know yet. We are all processing what that type of vindication can actually feel like now. Every conversation I’ve had with victims last night has been beyond moving on all levels,” she noted.

In September 2023, O’Day revealed that Diddy had requested she sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to prevent her from making negative remarks about him or his music label. After several victims came forward with accusations of sexual assault and abuse months later, O’Day released a statement to People magazine in May 2024.

While she remains unsure of Diddy’s feelings, she expressed understanding of the pain his victims experienced. Aubrey indicated that she envisions a “clear path and direction”for the industry that would “create a safe space for artists.”She has committed to “fighting like hell”to ensure that artist safety becomes a reality in her lifetime.

As of the writing of this article, no trial date for Diddy has been scheduled, and he remains in custody without bail in New York City.
