Internet Reacts to ‘90 Day Fiancé’ Star Big Ed Ending Engagement Days After Announcement: “She Chose to Run Away When the Alcohol Wore Off”

Edward Allen ‘Big Ed’ Brown, a star of 90 Day Fiancé, recently experienced a short-lived engagement that lasted only a few days. The 59-year-old reality TV personality got engaged to 29-year-old Porscha Raemond just 24 hours after meeting her at a fan meet-and-greet in Plantation, Florida, on Friday, September 13.

In an Instagram video shared on Monday, September 23, which was captioned “Life update..!”, Big Ed announced that the engagement was over. He described his decision to propose as “impulsive.”

Ed expressed that the engagement came too soon and wasn’t truly what he wanted. He mentioned realizing his error after discussing it with his family and extended his best wishes to his former fiancée.

In response to Ed’s video, social media users crowded the comments section. One fan with the handle @mama_6143 remarked:

“She chose to run away when the alcohol wore off.”

Reaction from netizens suggested that Porscha might feel “relieved”by the decision, while several users urged Ed to stop seeking attention and advised him to work on himself by taking a break from the public eye. Some even questioned whether Porscha was aware that the engagement had been called off.

“I did something that was impulsive”— Big Ed on his engagement to Porscha Raemond

As noted earlier, Big Ed disclosed in his Instagram post that the whirlwind engagement to Porscha Raemond was over. Speaking from his car, he remarked:

“Love is a crazy thing… I did something that was impulsive, I asked this girl to marry me and after considering… It’s too soon and it’s not really what I want, obviously.”

Ed continued, stating that after discussions with his family, he came to the conclusion that he preferred to remain single at this point. He wished Porscha well and promised fans updates on his future, as he anticipated being “single for a while,”which he believed to be “the best move.”

In his story, Ed noted that his engagement was a “whirlwind and, admittedly, a very impulsive moment.”He shared:

“After some deep reflection and discussions with those closest to me, I’ve realized that rushing into this decision wasn’t the right move. I have nothing but respect and love for Porscha and I wish her the best moving forward.”

In an earlier interview with Page Six, published on September 19, the reality star expressed excitement over his brief engagement. He recalled meeting Porscha at the Plantation sandwich shop Capriotti’s, describing her as a “beautiful Italian dish.”Ed stated that it was love at first sight.

Porscha reportedly embraced Ed and kissed him on the cheek, leading both to feel “sparks”between them. The following night, while dining with friends at YOLO in Fort Lauderdale, Ed, despite lacking a ring at the time, was encouraged by a friend to propose.

Big Ed shared that he popped the question using a paper clip ring crafted by the restaurant manager, and the entire establishment reacted with excitement. He remembered saying, “I never want to let you go. I think I met the one. I want to marry you.”To which she replied, “Yes,”followed by a hug and a kiss.

Initially, they decided to take their relationship slowly. However, while Big Ed’s family suspected the engagement might be for “publicity,”he felt it was one of the “realest things ever.”Unfortunately, as mentioned, the 90 Day Fiancé star’s fleeting romance and fourth engagement ultimately did not endure.

Previously, Ed was married to Sandra Heckman, and had engagements with Rose Vega, and Elizabeth Woods, the latter of which concluded on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After season 8.
