Internet Reacts to 50 Cent’s Statement About Signing Nicki Minaj and Potentially Dropping G-Unit Members

Iconic hip-hop artist 50 Cent expressed high regard for Nicki Minaj, stating he would swap his G-Unit crew for her. The 49-year-old rapper discussed his new residency in Las Vegas, his expansive business ventures, and a crucial choice that may have altered his career path during a recent interview.

In an October 2 interview with Earn Your Leisure, 50 Cent opened up about why he’s been absent from the rap scene. He expressed a lack of inspiration in the current hip-hop landscape, feeling it lacked the intellectual depth needed for him to engage with it creatively.

“Listening to today’s music makes me feel like I need to channel my inner foolishness to pen something relevant,”he shared.

Having solidified his legacy with hits such as The Massacre (2005) and Curtis (2007), 50 Cent first burst onto the scene with his 2003 album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. This album, a collaboration with Interscope Records, Shady Records, G-Unit Records, and Aftermath Entertainment, included guest spots from Eminem, Nate Dogg, and Young Buck. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling over 872,000 copies in its first week alone.

Despite his success as a recording artist, the last project he released was Animal Ambition in 2014. Since then, he has explored opportunities outside of music.

Nonetheless, he appears to have fresh collaborations in the pipeline, with anticipated releases coming soon. During a January 2023 appearance on Big Boy TV, 50 Cent hinted at working on new tracks with Dr. Dre. Furthermore, he mentioned potential new music with Dre in an Instagram post on February 19.
