Boosie Badazz recently addressed his Texas arrest warrant, sparking a significant reaction on the internet. On Friday, September 20, a warrant was issued for Boosie in Austin, Texas, due to an alleged theft of service charge. This charge originated from claims that the rapper failed to pay $8,800 to a chauffeur service he and his entourage used back in June.
In a video statement to The Shade Room released on Tuesday, September 24, Boosie referred to the incident as a “misunderstanding”and stated that he had resolved the situation after paying the required restitution. He explained that he had rented a Sprinter van from the company to take his children out, but unfortunately, the van was broken into and his personal items were stolen.
The rapper believed that his social media promotions for the chauffeur service and his wife’s business were in lieu of payment, saying:
“I thought I was doing a drop for the use of the sprinter to take my kids to the water park. I did the drop for the sprinter business, I also did a drop for his wife’s food company,”
He further added:
“I’m just glad it’s been resolved. I paid the restitution. I ain’t finna do nothing on no fed paper bout some crumbs,”
Many social media users expressed relief that Boosie acknowledged the misunderstanding and settled his fine promptly rather than escalating the issue. An Instagram user with the handle @sopressedd_ commented on The Shade Room’s post:
“At least he admitted and paid that’s way less than what these other celebs do!!”
Similar responses flooded in, with the majority of fans commending Boosie Badazz. Supporters encouraged others to refrain from criticizing the rapper, urging him to avoid such situations in the future.
A few users humorously pointed out that Boosie seems to always make headlines for various controversies.
Boosie Badazz’s Social Media Promotions for the Chauffeur Service
According to The Shade Room, after numerous inquiries regarding payment, the chauffeur sent Boosie an invoice amounting to $8,800, which the rapper claimed he never received.
Boosie allegedly utilized the chauffeur service on June 5 to transport his acquaintances from the Austin airport, continuing the service for three additional days. He even shared a promotional video on Instagram praising the chauffeur company, which elicited gratitude from the driver who mentioned offering Boosie a favorable rate.
Boosie reportedly suggested a discount for the promotional video, leading to the driver offering to negotiate terms. However, the driver later notified the police that no such agreement had ever been made. The charge against Boosie was officially filed on August 29, 2024.
