Intel XeSS (Xe Super Sampling) has achieved a significant milestone by now supporting over 150 game titles, and the momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing down as more games are anticipated to integrate this technology. Meanwhile, the newer XeSS 2 is just beginning to make its mark in the gaming industry.
Expansion of Intel XeSS Support Across 150+ Titles
As the pioneer among discrete GPU manufacturers, Intel first introduced its super-sampling technology with the initial release of the Intel Arc Alchemist graphics cards. Over the past two years, Intel has diligently enhanced XeSS, leading to the current update, XeSS 2, which is still in its nascent stages of adoption.
The Current Position of XeSS Technology
While XeSS 2 is not yet widely adopted, its predecessor, XeSS 1.0, along with its iterative enhancements, has successfully penetrated a wide array of gaming titles. Notably, Intel has announced that XeSS is now supported in more than 150 games, raising excitement among gamers eager for this technology’s advantages. Additionally, further integration into upcoming games is on the horizon.
For those interested in exploring the full list of titles that feature XeSS technology, a detailed compilation can be found here. This list includes a range of popular contemporary AAA games. However, it is important to note that despite this growth, competition between Intel’s XeSS, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) still persists.

Challenges Faced by Intel in Competing with Rivals
Despite these advancements, Intel faces significant challenges in catching up with its competitors in the graphics-processing segment. While many existing games support XeSS 1 and its variations, XeSS 2 is not yet broadly available. Currently, only two titles, F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals, are known to feature XeSS 2, but several anticipated releases, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3, are expected to incorporate this cutting-edge technology in the near future.
Additionally, a select few games are starting to utilize Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation feature; however, its presence is not as widespread as that of FSR and DLSS Frame Generation techniques. It is also crucial to note that both XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are exclusive to Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs. Currently, the lineup includes just two launched graphics cards, the Arc B580 and Arc B570, which have been met with limited availability.
