Recently, the first industrial Mini-ITX motherboard featuring Intel’s Panther Lake-H CPU was showcased, boasting a thermal design power (TDP) of 25W.

The upcoming Panther Lake processors from Intel are eagerly anticipated to hit the market later this year, with a carefully selected range of stock keeping units (SKUs).As the first client CPU lineup based on the cutting-edge 18A fabrication process, these chips will integrate the newest architecture, highlighting cores such as Cougar Cove P-Cores, Darkmont E-Cores, and enhanced Xe3 graphics capabilities. The Panther Lake family will offer up to 16 cores, combining various core configurations, including P-Core and E-Core types, alongside up to 12 Xe3 graphics cores.

DFI has unveiled this new industrial solution, represented by a compact Mini-ITX motherboard powered by an Intel Panther Lake-H chip. While the specific WeU remains undisclosed, it is confirmed to operate at a TDP of 25W, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications. This adaptability implies that the TDP can be adjusted based on specific needs.

This Mini-ITX motherboard is packed with advanced specifications, including support for dual DDR5 SO-DIMM modules, allowing for up to 128 GB of memory at impressive speeds of 7200 MT/s. Additionally, it features Quad Display outputs consisting of one DP 2.1, one HDMI 2.0, one USB Type-C, and one M2A display extension port for versatile connectivity.

The board features a multitude of I/O options including three Intel 2.5GbE LAN ports, two COM ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C, five USB 2.0 headers, and two SATA III ports, complemented by audio capabilities. It also supports EXT-OOB and optional internal RJ45 connectivity, ensuring flexibility and extensibility for future needs.

At this stage, DFI has not disclosed any pricing or availability details, as the product is currently listed under a “Preliminary”status. However, as Intel aims to increase Panther Lake production, we can anticipate a launch in late Q4 2025 or early Q1 2026. As the technology evolves, this motherboard will likely serve as a critical component across various applications, including laptops, Mini PCs, and portable devices. Notably, Panther Lake is not projected for desktop DIY platforms; instead, the next anticipated update will be the Nova Lake-S series, rumored for release in the second half of 2026.
