Intel Launches APO Update for Core Ultra 200 Series and 14th Gen CPUs; Promises Performance Boost of Up to 14%

Intel has recently announced a significant update to its Application Optimization (APO) feature, marking a notable enhancement for users looking to improve gaming experiences on their latest processors.

New APO Update for Raptor Lake Refresh and Arrow Lake CPUs

The latest quarterly update for APO presents an addition of 15 new games designed to optimize performance specifically for Intel’s cutting-edge processor families, including the Raptor Lake Refresh and Arrow Lake CPUs. This expansion aims to enhance gameplay performance, ensuring users fully utilize their hardware capabilities.

Intel indicates that this update is being progressively rolled out and will be available for the Raptor Lake Refresh and Core Ultra 200 series for both desktop and mobile units. However, some specific models will not benefit from this update. For the Arrow Lake series, all “K”models will receive support, along with the Core Ultra 200HX family. In terms of the 14th-generation processors, only the desktop “K”variants and a limited selection of mobile WeUs, specifically the Core i9 14900HX and Core i7 14700HX, will be enabled.

According to Intel, this update can lead to performance boosts of up to 14% in certain titles such as Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition. Additionally, various games are projected to experience subtle enhancements in performance metrics. The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K has shown promising results, offering performance improvements ranging from 3% to 14%, including enhanced 1% lows.
