Intel Exits Deep Link Support: What This Means for Users

Launched in 2022 alongside the Arc Alchemist series, Intel’s Deep Link technology has reached its end-of-life status, as disclosed by an Intel employee on a GitHub discussion. While no formal announcement has been made by Intel, the confirmation comes as a shock to many users who relied on this feature.

In an interaction on GitHub, Zack-Intel acknowledged that the Deep Link technology will no longer receive updates, rendering its current capabilities stagnant. This revelation stemmed from a user inquiry by SapphireDrew, who encountered difficulties activating Deep Link while using OBS Studio, a popular tool for gameplay capturing and streaming.

After evaluating the situation, an OBS Studio representative attributed the issue to driver complications rather than OBS itself. Although Zack-Intel intervened to provide clarification, the official discontinuation confirmation followed a month later, leaving many who invested in Intel Arc Alchemist GPUs for improved performance without the expected benefits of Deep Link.
