The anticipated launch of Intel’s premium Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU appears to be on the horizon, raising hopes that it will be the much-awaited Arc B770 model.
Intel Arc B770 GPU in Development: BMG-G31 Identified in Recent Shipping Manifest
Intel’s Battlemage lineup is set to welcome a new member, with a recent NBD shipping manifest unveiling the new Xe2-based GPU die. For those closely following updates on the Arc B770, reports suggest that Intel has previously confirmed the existence of a more powerful discrete graphics card (dGPU) than the current champion, the Arc B580. While the B580 ranks as the fastest GPU currently available, it is capped at the budget tier of the GPU market.

Intel has launched multiple iterations of the BMG-G21 GPU die used in the Arc B580, including consumer-focused models like the Arc B570 and professional workstations such as the Arc Pro B50 and B60. Ongoing rumors and leaks hint at the more powerful BMG-G31 chip, which is poised for inclusion in the upcoming Arc B770, expected to succeed the Arc A770. The release of this GPU seems imminent.

Twitter user @Haze2K1 recently identified the BMG-G31 GPU in an NBD shipping manifest from several months prior. The document indicates a shipping date of June 11, revealing the GPU die’s dimensions are slightly different from the BMG-G21. Specifically, while the G21 measures 381 x 192 x 89 mm, the G31 is recorded at 390 x 189 x 83 mm. Despite minimal size variation, the G31 is expected to offer a considerable increase in core count, speculatively featuring 32 Xe2 cores and equipped with 16 GB of memory alongside a 256-bit memory bus.
The BMG-G31 had previously appeared in the Compute Runtime, associated with four Device IDs. These additions appeared roughly a month and a half ago, prior to the manifest’s date. Hence, it is plausible that the Arc B770 could launch within the next few weeks. Notably, following the previous identification of the Arc B580 in an NBD manifest, it released approximately 2.5 months later. While this timeline isn’t definitive, enthusiasts are optimistic that Intel will unveil the Arc B770 at least by the end of 2025.
