Recent Geekbench AI tests have unveiled performance benchmarks for Intel’s upcoming Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, situated within the high-end Arrow Lake-HX series of CPUs. This analysis highlights the specifications of this promising chip, which aims to enhance mobile computing capabilities.

Intel is poised to launch its Arrow Lake CPUs for mobile devices, similar to the desktop versions. Among them, the Core Ultra 200HX series will feature multiple models. Following the discovery of the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX on Geekbench yesterday, today’s revelation focuses on the Core Ultra 7 255HX, which, while not as powerful as its counterpart, remains a strong contender in the high-performance category.

As with previous leaks, the latest benchmarks emphasize the capabilities of the included GPU rather than the CPU itself. The benchmark results reflect the performance of a new NVIDIA RTX 50 series laptop GPU, which is anticipated to release in tandem with NVIDIA’s desktop Blackwell gaming GPUs.

The benchmarking device was the ONNX Clevo X580, which showed performance for an unnamed NVIDIA RTX 50 GPU during the Single Precision and Half Precision tests. While the results, showing a single precision score of around 6500 points and half-precision at 15760 points, may initially appear modest, it’s essential to understand that these scores don’t necessarily reflect gaming performance, as they relate more to computational tasks.

Although the specific GPU model remains unidentified, speculation suggests it could be something along the lines of a budget-friendly RTX 5050, given the performance metrics. The core specifications for Intel’s Core Ultra 7 255HX were, however, more clearly defined.

Core Ultra 7 255HX Specifications

Featuring a robust 20-core architecture, the Core Ultra 7 255HX consists of 8 performance cores and 12 efficient cores, starting with a base clock speed of 2.50 GHz. Notably, the processor can achieve up to 5.2 GHz on its P-cores and 4.5 GHz on its E-cores when boosted. However, further details regarding its L3 cache and integrated GPU (iGPU) specifications were not disclosed.

Intel’s Core Ultra 7 255HX will integrate a Xe-LPG-based iGPU with 64 EUs clocked at 1.9 GHz. Additionally, the series will include another variant, the Core Ultra 7 265HX, which promises higher clock speeds. The lineup also features the Core Ultra 9 series, with the 275HX and flagship 285HX boasting a 24-core configuration and maximum clock speeds reaching 5.5 GHz. On the more budget-friendly end, the series encompasses the Core Ultra 5 models, 245HX and 235HX, offering 14 cores and clock speeds topping 5.1 GHz.
