Intel’s budget-oriented Core Ultra 5 processors, particularly the Ultra 5 225 and Ultra 5 225F models, are currently experiencing significant price reductions at prominent retailers across both the United States and Europe.
Significant Price Cuts on Intel Core Ultra 5 225F and 225 CPUs
In January 2025, Intel introduced its Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra”Non-K Desktop CPUs during CES. This lineup features several new models targeted at budget consumers, including the Core Ultra 5 225 and Core Ultra 5 235 series. However, a proper Core i3 alternative, specifically a Core Ultra 3 series, is still missing; while there have been mentions of a potential Core Ultra 3 205, this WeU has yet to launch, possibly due to lukewarm enthusiasm for the Arrow Lake CPUs.
Recently, major retailers in the US and EU have slashed prices on two models from the Non-K Arrow Lake CPU collection: the Core Ultra 5 225 and the Core Ultra 5 225F. Initially priced at $246 and $231, these CPUs are now available for significantly lower prices.
Same in Korea, price had down. Even though, no price competitive. U5 225F is around 230K KRW, about 170 USDR5 7500F and i5-14400F is around 170K KRW, about 120 USDI think no reason for consumer to choose ARL platform https://t.co/hf1ylbWtEP

The Core Ultra 5 225 is now priced at $211.24 USD, reflecting a 14.1% decrease, while the Core Ultra 5 225F, which lacks an integrated GPU, is available for $193.79, marking a 16.1% drop. These prices are specific to the US market.
- Core Ultra 5 225 CPU – $211.24 USD (Amazon)
- Core Ultra 5 225F CPU – $211.24 USD (Newegg)
- Core Ultra 5 225 CPU – $193.79 USD (Amazon)
- Core Ultra 5 225 CPU – $193.79 USD (Newegg)
In Europe and Korea, price reductions are even more pronounced. Reports indicate that the Intel Core Ultra 5 225F is priced at approximately 230, 000 KRW (about $170 USD) in Korea, while in the EU, the Core Ultra 5 225 can be purchased for around 185 Euros, and the “F”variant is available for 175 Euros.
Although these new price points are certainly more attractive than initial offerings, the overall value of Intel’s latest Core Ultra 5 CPUs remains questionable. Market analysts like Harukaze highlight that the previous-generation Ryzen 5 7500F and Core i5-14400F CPUs provide superior value, retailing between $110 and $120 USD. Notably, the older models can be paired with more affordable motherboards or ones users may already own, whereas Arrow Lake necessitates new motherboard purchases. Although price cuts are a welcome sight, the Arrow Lake-S series does not seem to meet the expectations of many potential budget builders.
