Last week, a leaked benchmark showed the upcoming Core i5-13600K approaching Ryzen 9 5950X performance levels. Now a new benchmark entry gives us results for the Core i7-13700K, allowing us to preview it against AMD’s flagship.
The Intel Core i7-13700K Geekbench entry published by Benchleaks shows that the processor was installed on an ASRock Z690 Steel Legend with 32GB of DDR4-3600 memory. Moreover, it is confirmed that the chip will contain 16 cores (8 P-cores and 8 E-cores) and 24 threads, which corresponds to the Core i9-12900K core configuration. However, it should be faster as the operating frequencies show that the processor has reached a clock speed of 5.4 GHz.
With a score of 16,542, the Core i7-13700K rivaled the Ryzen 9 5950X in terms of multi-core performance. However, it’s a completely different beast in single-core workloads, scoring 2090 and outperforming every other chip in the Geekbench 5 rankings. Compared to its predecessor, it’s 17% and 10% faster than its predecessor in multi-core and single-core tests, respectively.
Intel is expected to announce its 13th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” desktop processors in late September during the Innovation Keynote.
