Intel Confirms Nova Lake-S and Nova Lake-U Following P-Core Only Bartlett Lake-S for Desktops and Panther Lake for Laptops

Intel has officially announced the upcoming release of its next-generation Nova Lake Desktop and Laptop CPUs, shortly following the introduction of the Bartlett Lake-S and Panther Lake processors. This development marks an essential step in Intel’s ongoing evolution of high-performance computing.

Overview of Intel’s Nova Lake CPU Series

As revealed in Intel’s recently published “Public Real-Time Gold”slide deck, the company is gearing up for the launch of its Nova Lake CPUs. The first glimpse of the Panther Lake silicon was showcased at Computex, setting the stage for the upcoming Nova Lake series.

Desktops: Nova Lake-S Following Bartlett Lake-S Chipset

Intel has confirmed that the new Bartlett Lake-S CPUs will be a part of the “Core Series 2″family, designed exclusively with Performance Cores (P-Cores).These chips will feature up to 12 P-Cores, leveraging designs from the previous 14th and 13th generation, which means they will support Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT).With a 12-core configuration, users can expect up to 24 threads, while the lineup will also include variants with as few as four cores.

These processors will be compatible with both the LGA 1700 and LGA 1800 sockets but will not work with the newer LGA 1854 socket, which is designed solely for the Arrow Lake-S processors and the recently announced refreshed lineup.

Upcoming Nova Lake-S for Desktop Users

Following the Bartlett Lake-S and Arrow Lake-S series, Intel will introduce the Nova Lake-S family, expected to support the LGA 1954 socket. Notably, these CPUs will boast impressive core counts of up to 54 cores, representing a significant upgrade for desktop users looking to enhance their computing power.

Laptops: Nova Lake-U to Replace Panther Lake

On the laptop front, Intel has outlined its strategy to launch the Panther Lake CPUs in early 2026, subsequently unveiling the Nova Lake-U lineup. Designed to cater to mainstream and entry-level platforms, the Nova Lake-U series will set a new standard in mobile computing. Furthermore, the more powerful Nova Lake-H and Nova Lake-HX families are slated for release once initial production volumes ramp up.
