Battlefield 6 Set to Launch with XeSS 2 Support and Enhanced Optimizations for Intel CPUs
Press Release Highlights:
Intel and EA have officially unveiled their collaborative efforts to optimize Battlefield 6, the latest installment in the iconic Battlefield series, which will debut in October 2025. This partnership aims to ensure that Battlefield 6 runs seamlessly on Intel® Core™, Core Ultra, and Intel Arc-equipped PCs and handheld devices, specifically integrating Intel technologies like XeSS 2.

Nicolas Thibieroz, Senior Director of Game Engineering at Intel, stated, “Battlefield 6 showcases the capabilities of Intel-powered systems, and collaborating with EA allows us to provide an exceptional player experience. The inclusion of Intel features like XeSS 2 at launch ensures optimal gameplay for users.”

This involves considerable adjustments to the scheduler, ensuring that game processes operate on the appropriate threads at optimal times, thus guaranteeing a smooth and enjoyable player experience.

At launch, Battlefield 6 will feature Intel’s XeSS 2 technologies, aimed at enhancing framerate and visual fidelity while maintaining responsiveness during gameplay. Key components of XeSS 2, which will work best on Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) equipped with Intel Arc 100V and 100T series GPUs, as well as Intel Arc A- and B-series GPUs, include:
- XeSS Super Resolution (SR)
- XeSS Frame Generation (FG)
- Xe Low Latency (LL)
Additionally, players will have the opportunity to join the Battlefield 6 open beta, which will incorporate Intel’s XeSS 2 integration, set to go live later this summer.
