Intel is gearing up to launch a new Battlemage graphics card that promises to harness the advanced capabilities of the latest PCIe 5.0 interface, featuring an impressive configuration of 16 PCIe lanes.

Intel’s Upcoming Battlemage GPU: The “99CMLN”with PCIe 5.0 Capabilities

The Peripheral Component Interconnect Special Interest Group (PCI-SIG) has recently logged a new product from Intel under the codename “99CMLN”. This designation confirms its position within the Intel Arc Battlemage series, a segment anticipated to push graphics performance boundaries.

The introduction of this GPU marks a significant leap, as it is the first within the Battlemage line to incorporate a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface, surpassing the specifications seen in the current Arc Pro Battlemage offerings. Insights from the leaker @KOMACHI_ENSAKA noted that this entry was added to the PCI-SIG database on May 9, 2025. Additionally, two other GPUs, designated “99CGHV”and “99CW89, ”reportedly align with the Pro B60 and B50 models.

Current mainstay GPUs like the Arc B570 and B580 are equipped with PCIe 4.0 interfaces, distinctly setting them apart from this upcoming model. Whereas the Pro Battlemage cards leverage the same BMG-G21 architecture as their mainstream counterparts, this new GPU may be poised to deliver enhanced performance, potentially representing a superior variant of the B580.

Speculation regarding the release of the Arc B770 has been rampant, although definitive information remains scarce. Intel has not publicly dismissed the idea of this GPU, and recent developments suggest its potential introduction in the near future. Should the Arc B770 debut with the PCIe 5.0 interface, its impact on performance may be minimal, as PCIe 4.0 is already capable of efficiently transferring large data volumes without major bottlenecking. However, given that competitors NVIDIA and AMD have adopted the Gen 5.0 standard, Intel’s alignment with this trend seems plausible.

According to various leaks, the anticipated Arc B770 might be powered by the more advanced BMG-G31 die, potentially featuring between 24 to 32 Xe2 cores, alongside 16 GB of GDDR6 memory connected via a 256-bit memory bus.
