Intel Arc B570 “Battlemage” GPU Performance Review in Geekbench: 12% Slower Than Arc B580 at a 12% Lower Price

Intel’s upcoming Arc B570 GPU, based on the Battlemage architecture, has recently made an appearance in the Geekbench OpenCL database, just days before its anticipated official launch.

Intel Arc B570 “Battlemage”Performance Insights Ahead of Launch

The Arc B570 GPU is part of Intel’s Battlemage lineup, which also includes the prior release of the Arc B580 in December 2024. The official unveiling of the B570 is set for January 15, 2025, and with only two days remaining, benchmarks are starting to surface, providing crucial insights into its performance.

A benchmark conducted by user @GawroskiT revealed the B570 on Geekbench. This platform is widely recognized for evaluating CPU and GPU performance through a variety of tests. Note that benchmark scores can fluctuate, and further testing may yield different results for the Arc B570.

Initial results suggest that the Intel Arc B570 is relatively slower than the Arc B580, as expected. The Arc B570 achieved a score of 86,716 in OpenCL, which is approximately 12% lower than the B580. The latter typically scores between 95,000 and 100,000 points, with a recent score pegged at 98,343.

Benchmark Comparison

Further details from the OpenCL Information tab show that the Arc B570 features 144 Compute Units with a boost clock reaching up to 2.75 GHz. While official documentation states a base clock speed of 2500 MHz, the 2.75 GHz figure could indicate a custom aftermarket board design.

GUNNIR Unveils Several Intel Arc B580 GPUs

The specifications for the Intel Arc B570 GPU include 10 GB GDDR6 memory on a 160-bit bus. This model utilizes the same BMG-G21 die, measuring 272 mm², but with certain scaled-back specifications. Although it is expected to perform slightly slower than the B580, the exact performance differential in gaming settings remains uncertain.

Intel is pricing the Arc B570 at $219 for its limited edition, while customized versions from partner brands may be priced higher. Given its features, the Arc B580 may still offer more value, but consumer feedback and real-world performance testing will ultimately determine the best choice among these GPUs. Intel has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the discrete GPU market, raising hopes for more high-performance options in the future.
