The enchanting universe of Infinity Nikki is filled with delightful crafting materials that captivate players. Since its remarkable launch in late 2024, the game’s loyal community eagerly anticipates ongoing updates and introduces new features. Nevertheless, some items remain difficult to obtain, necessitating extensive exploration throughout the whimsical realm of Wishfield. One particularly sought-after item is the Hooded Feather, which players must carefully hunt down.
Obtaining Hooded Feathers in Infinity Nikki
Hooded Feathers are coveted because they can only be sourced from a specific creature in the game—the Hooded Owl found in the lush Wishing Woods. Accessing the Wishing Woods requires players to complete story quests through Chapter 6, which unlocks the necessary abilities to venture into this enchanting area of Wishfield.
Once you enter the Wishing Woods, your main task is locating the Hooded Owls. These large, tan-colored owls, nearly the size of the protagonist Nikki, are relatively easy to find, appearing in various locations throughout the woods, starting from your initial visit to the Wish Inspection Center. Unlike more timid creatures, such as Longstockings, Hooded Owls remain stationary and accessible regardless of how closely you approach them, making them ideal targets for feather farming.
To collect Hooded Feathers from these owls, equip the Bye-Bye Dust ability—along with any stylish variations. When you see the blue brush icon above an owl’s head, it signals that you can groom it, rewarding you with 1 x Hooded Feather and some Grooming Insight in return.
If you have the right nodes unlocked on your Heart of Infinity Grid, you can also accumulate Hooded Feather Essence and increased quantities of Hooded Feathers along with Grooming Insight. The relevant nodes are located on the northern portion of the Heart of Infinity Grid, but unlocking them requires substantial Grooming Insight; for example, the node for Hooded Feather Essence demands a minimum of 18,000 Grooming Insight, while the one for item and stat bonuses costs 25,000 Insight.
Although the journey to unlock these nodes can feel like a grind, players can accelerate the process. Visit the Realm of Nourishment, where you can exchange your daily Vital Energy and collected grooming items for boosts in Grooming Insight, making it easier to acquire all desired items for your efforts.
Utilize the Map’s tracking feature to pinpoint the locations of every Hooded Owl in the Wishing Woods. To do this, open your Map, click the book icon at the bottom left corner, and access your Collections menu. Once you find the Hooded Feather option—confirming you have collected at least one—select it and press ‘Track.’ The map will display the nearest Hooded Owl’s location, marked by an orange circle.
For comprehensive tracking of every Hooded Owl location simultaneously, players must gather enough Hooded Feathers to unlock this advanced feature, known as ‘Precise Tracking.’
Additionally, keep in mind that grooming nodes reset roughly every 24 hours after being utilized (subject to change per the V.1.2 update), so you’ll have to wait before you can gather more feathers or other groomed items.
While exploring the Wishing Woods, do not miss the opportunity to meet the Sovereign of Fresh located east of the Grand Tree. By doing so, you can earn the Fresh Medal and further enhance your reputation as the premier stylist in Miraland.
