During the 2024 Miami Open final match between Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov, Julia Lemigova, Martina Navratilova’s wife, provided an inside look at the tennis legend’s responsibilities as an interviewer.
Jannik Sinner of Italy secured his second Masters 1000 title with a commanding 6-3, 6-1 win against Bulgarian player Grigor Dimitrov at the Hard Rock Stadium.
On Sunday, March 31, Lemigova posted several clips and photos on Instagram, providing a sneak peek into Navratilova’s position as an interviewer for Sky Sports. One clip features the Czech-American actively fulfilling her role alongside former tennis player Annabel Croft and journalist Gigi Salmon. Another clip showcases Navratilova and Croft displaying their salsa skills.
The celebrity from The Real Housewives of Miami posted an additional photo in which she is shown savoring a beverage at a lounge alongside her daughter Victoria and her boyfriend Devin Craven.
Although Lemigova and Navratilova initially crossed paths in 2000, it wasn’t until eight years later that their relationship evolved into a romantic one. They tied the knot in December 2014 and have since been lovingly raising Lemigova’s daughters, Emma and Victoria.
Navratilova weighs in on Sinner’s rise to the top of the tennis world after Miami victory
Following Jannik Sinner’s win at the 2024 Miami Open, Martina Navratilova shared her thoughts on his current position in the world of tennis.
When asked if the Italian player is considered the best globally, Navratilova gave a positive response. The 18-time Grand Slam champion highlighted Sinner’s exceptional consistency and skill on the ATP tour, especially in the absence of World No. 1 Novak Djokovic from the tournament.
“Well, Novak Djokovic is not playing unfortunately for us. Yes, he’s [Sinner] been the most consistent and his average today is better than everybody else’s average at the moment. He’s taken it to a whole new level,”Martina Navratilova said in an interview with Tennis Channel (at 0:03).
The Czech-American also mentioned that Sinner’s current stage in his career has brought him a significant feeling of calmness and confidence while playing on the court.
“So it gives him a lot of peace of mind because he knows he doesn’t have to play out of his socks. He does not have to redline anything to win matches, the other guys are the ones that have to redline. So that gives you a lot of confidence,” she added.
