Despite previously winning the 2011 tournament, Caroline Wozniacki was granted a wildcard entry into the main draw for the 2024 Charleston Open. She continued her success by defeating Mccartney Kessler in a dominant first-round match with a score of 6-0, 6-1. In the upcoming second round, the Danish athlete will face off against Anhelina Kalinina.

At the upcoming Charleston Open, Ons Jabeur will aim to repeat her title win and overcome a challenging start to the year. With a current win-loss record of 2-5, the World No. 6 has not had the best start to 2024. This was evident in her disappointing performance at the 2024 Australian Open, where she suffered a defeat to 16-year-old Mirra Andreeva in the second round with a score of 6-0, 6-2.

The Tunisian player is currently experiencing a 4-match losing streak, having been defeated by Beatriz Haddad Maia in the quarterfinals of the Abu Dhabi Open. She also suffered a second round loss to Lesia Tsurenko at the Qatar Open, although she had received a bye in the first round.

Jabeur’s struggles continued at the Sunshine Double as she suffered defeats in the second round of both the Indian Wells and Miami Open tournaments. Despite receiving a bye in the first round, she was unable to find her form and lost to Katie Volynets and Elina Avanesyan in consecutive matches.

The upcoming first-round matchup between Miami Open champion Danielle Collins and Paula Badosa is expected to be intense. The victor will then advance to the second round to face Jabeur.

The winner of the match between the 2016 Charleston Open champion Sloane Stephens and Magdalena Frech will go on to face Leylah Fernandez in the next round. Additionally, the winner of the match between Sofia Kenin and Taylor Townsend will face Ekaterina Alexandrova in the next round.

Magda Linette’s victory over Petra Martić in the first round propelled her into a second-round match against Dayana Yastremska. In the same tournament, Daria Saville advanced to the second round where she will face off against Elina Svitolina after defeating Tamara Korpatsch 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the opening round of the Charleston Open.
