Important Recall Alert for AMD and Intel Computers in November

The highly anticipated Recall feature of Windows 11 is set to launch on devices equipped with Intel and AMD processors. Microsoft recently announced that Windows Insiders using Copilot+ PCs can expect access to Recall later this month. Additionally, users purchasing new PCs featuring Intel or AMD chips will gain access starting in November. This aligns with Intel’s prior confirmation regarding the November arrival of Copilot+ PC AI capabilities on its processors.

Here’s the official announcement:

Starting in October, Windows Insiders will begin to see Recall on Arm for our Qualcomm-powered Copilot+ PCs. Customers who purchase an Intel or AMD-powered Copilot+ PC will see Recall initially in our Windows Insider program starting in November.

Unfortunately, Recall remains exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, meaning that existing systems with the traditional x86 architecture from Intel and AMD will not support this feature. Furthermore, Microsoft’s recent update to Recall’s security framework includes new protections designed to prevent its operation on non-Copilot+ devices. Whether enthusiasts might find a way around these restrictions remains uncertain.

If you seek a Windows computer with Recall capability but prefer to avoid Windows on ARM, consider shopping for a laptop with Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 processors or AMD’s Ryzen 300 AI chips.

It’s important to note that broad availability for Recall has yet to be announced. In the upcoming months, only Windows Insiders will have access to this feature, while those outside of pre-release channels will have to wait longer for a public rollout. Microsoft assures that details regarding the public release will be provided soon.

Along with the updates for Recall and the upcoming launch of Windows 11 version 24H2 for the general public, Microsoft has introduced a suite of new AI-driven features for Copilot+ PCs. These include “Click to Do,” AI-enhanced Windows Search, Generative Fill and Erase, Super Resolution, and more.
