“I’m capable enough to win” – Izaak Michell confident he will be the man to end Tye Ruotolo’s reign at ONE Fight Night 21

Izaak Michell is entering the most significant battle of his profession with a sack brimming with unwavering confidence.

At ONE Fight Night 21 this Friday, taking place in US primetime at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, the Australian standout will make his promotional debut by facing Tye Ruotolo for the ONE welterweight submission grappling world title.

During an interview with ONE Championship, Michell shared her determination to hand Ruotolo his first loss in the promotion and ultimately win the top prize in submission grappling.

Izaak Michell stated:

“I think the general fans and everyone, they just get what the media feeds them and so on. But the other guys, you know, they can recognize someone’s potential when they’re coming up and before they even reach that peak of sorts in the sport. So yeah, I think it’s just that I’m capable enough to win, and, God willing, that will happen.”

Michell is among the top students who trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the guidance of Craig Jones, John Danaher, and Leo Arruda.

At the age of 25, the individual’s vast experience had established them as one of the most formidable submission grapplers in the world.

Michell has been a champion in the Who’s Next Tournament and emerged victorious in the 2022 ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials, securing the gold medal.

Even from the start of their careers, Izaak Michell had a strong intuition that he and Tye Ruotolo would eventually face each other in competition.
