“I Would Never Leave Them” – Joan from The Golden Bachelorette Explains Her Preference for a Long-Distance Relationship

Upcoming Finale of The Golden Bachelorette: What to Expect

As anticipation builds for the completion of The Golden Bachelorette, the second part of the finale, titled After the Final Rose, is set to air exclusively on ABC on November 13, 2024. Enthusiastic viewers eagerly await to discover who Joan will select as her partner and potential fiancé.

Insights from Joan Vassos on Long-Distance Relationships

In a recent exclusive interview with Parade Magazine on November 5, 2024, Joan expressed her positive outlook on the concept of long-distance relationships. She noted that, unlike Gerry Turner from The Golden Bachelor, who married Theresa Nist before facing challenges regarding living arrangements, she sees distance as manageable.

“I have children and grandchildren and a mother [Mary, 92] and mother-in-law who rely on me, and I would never leave them. I hope that my partner would value his own family and community ties as well.”

Joan emphasizes her commitment to her established life in Maryland, stating, “I obviously have my life in Maryland and I’m not leaving it.” She believes that navigating a long-distance relationship can be feasible, especially for those approaching retirement.

Joan illustrated her point by suggesting that having both time and resources makes it easy for couples to visit each other. She shared her enthusiasm about the potential for shared experiences, stating:

“You can fly to wherever they are, and it can even be on the fun side. If I have something exciting happening in Rockville, come and spend a couple of weeks with me. And if there’s something wonderful going on where you live, then I’ll visit you!”

Joan’s Commitment to Her Career and Personal Aspirations

During her conversation, Joan mentioned that despite her involvement in the show, she is not ready to retire. She serves as a private school administrator and intends to return to her role after the show’s publicity subsides. Joan also expressed her excitement for participating in other projects, including a role in Aladdin on Broadway and her involvement with Dancing with the Stars.

“I still feel really engaged with my professional life. I want to have maybe a month or two to enjoy the spotlight from the show, but I’m also thrilled about pursuing projects that I have long wanted to do.”

To catch all the latest on The Golden Bachelorette, be sure to tune in on ABC. Additionally, fans can follow Joan Vassos on her official Instagram account for updates about both her personal and professional life.
