After securing a victory at the Miami Open, Jannik Sinner reflected on his remarkable start to 2024.
In 2023, the Italian achieved the position of World No. 4 after delivering exceptional performances, including victories at the Canadian Open and contributions to his country’s Davis Cup triumph.
His 2024 season began at the Australian Open, where he ultimately emerged victorious by defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final, despite being down two sets. Additionally, the 22-year-old overcame Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, effectively ending the Serb’s 33-match winning streak at the Australian Open.

After his win, the Italian spoke with Tennis Channel’s Prakash Amritraj and expressed his satisfaction with the season so far, calling it “almost perfect.”Sinner also admitted that he never anticipated such a strong start to the year 2024.
‘Until now this season has been nearly perfect. I mean, I would never expect it to be like this in the beginning of the year but that’s what happened. Now, I am just living the moment. I forgot the past, living the moment and let’s see what I can get in the clay season,”Jannik Sinner said.
In addition to his victories at the Australian Open and Miami Open, Sinner also emerged as the champion at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam. This win in Miami will result in a new career-high ranking for the Italian player, placing him at World No. 2.
