“I Will Take Time Off for Myself” — GOT7’s BamBam Commits to Taking a Break Amidst Busy Schedule and Concerning Updates

On September 23, 2024, GOT7’s BamBam took to his official X account to apologize to his fans for being “negative and sensitive”over the past two weeks. The rapper and singer, known for his hit “You Calling My Name,”has consistently been one of the few K-pop idols open about mental health issues.

In this recent update, the Thai artist announced his decision to take a break from his activities to recharge and return with renewed energy.

“The past 2 weeks I want to say sorry for being so negative and sensitive. I will take some time off for myself and will come back as a positive BamBam again. Hope everyone reading this post always be happy and surrounded with love. Take care.”

Previously, in July 2024, BamBam expressed distress on his Instagram story, stating he wished to “just fall asleep and never wake up,”which raised significant concerns among his fans. Social media was flooded with supportive messages, encouraging the K-pop star to take the necessary time off from his demanding schedule.

BamBam Opens Up to His Fans: “I Feel Unhappy More Than I Feel Happy These Days”

During his 2024 [BAMESIS] SHOWCASE TOUR in Manila on September 8, BamBam revealed feelings of unhappiness despite his accomplishments. This revelation further worried his fans as he elaborated on his mental state.

“I feel like the more you grow up, the happy days … keep getting less … I’m gonna say I feel unhappy more than I feel happy these days … I just wanna be honest because you guys are the only people that I can talk to. You guys are the only people that I can lean on. So, that’s why I really wanted to express my feelings to you.”

BamBam encouraged his fans, known as Ahgase, to find happiness in their lives so that they could uplift him in the future.

“If this world is not gonna allow me to be so happy, at least I want to give my energy to you guys so y’all can be happy more. So, Ahgase, please, at least for me, please be happy for me, all right? And then someday … maybe when I need that energy, please, y’all can cheer me up and be there for me, so thank you.”

During the performance, he struggled to hold back tears while explaining that recent thoughts had made him sensitive and emotional. He expressed deep gratitude to his fans and highlighted the importance of their connection, which allows him to be candid about his feelings.

Meanwhile, BamBam still has three more shows lined up for the 2024 [BAMESIS] SHOWCASE TOUR, scheduled as follows:

  1. October 19, 2024, GBK Basketball Hall, Jakarta, Indonesia.
  2. October 20, 2024, AXA Dreamland Hall, Hong Kong.
  3. December 15, 2024, Yashwantrao Chavan Center, Mumbai (Only fan sign).

In other news, from September 19 to November 11, 2023, BamBam successfully completed his first world tour, Area 52, spanning South Korea, the UK, Germany, the United States, the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan.

The encore show of BamBam’s Area 52 World Tour wrapped up on May 4, 2024, in Bangkok, marking a successful conclusion to the tour.
