“I was seeing some dark f***ing sh*t” – Logan Paul opens up about having suicidal thoughts after CryptoZoo scandal

Despite being marketed as a play-to-earn game for blockchain investors, CryptoZoo was ultimately one of the greatest failures in Logan Paul’s entrepreneurial journey. The lawsuit against the popular social media influencer alleged that he deceived users and caused them to lose millions of dollars.

The project’s controversy even captured the interest of popular YouTuber Coffeezilla, known for exposing crypto and other online scams.

After Coffeezilla’s revelations, a class action lawsuit was quickly filed against Paul and his partners due to the numerous troubling aspects of the game that were brought to light.

The project’s controversy had a negative impact on ‘The Maverick’s’ mental well-being. In an interview with Graham Bensinger, the social media influencer revealed struggling with suicidal thoughts amidst the unpleasantness.

“It was the scam allegations. The pit of despair I was in over Christmas time was caused by a YouTuber accusing me of scamming… I had a bit of a mental breakdown one night and I was in a pretty dark spot. For the first time in my life, I was having suicidal thoughts… I was seeing some dark f***ing sh*t dude. Some dark sh*t. I was spiraling. I’m just crying, sobbing… I felt weak, which is uncommon for me. I’m supposed be the leader.”

The Controversy Surrounding Logan Paul’s CryptoZoo Refund Model, According to Coffeezilla

Despite Logan Paul’s commitment to contributing $2.3 million towards reimbursing CryptoZoo investors, YouTuber Coffeezilla remains skeptical of ‘The Maverick’s’ proposed refund system.

According to Paul’s buy-back plan, players will receive a refund of 0.1 ETH (a popular cryptocurrency) for each CryptoZoo NFT purchased. However, due to the fact that the value of ETH has dropped by approximately 37% since the game’s launch, investors will still experience financial losses.

During episode #1951 of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Coffeezilla noted that while NFT sales were a small aspect of the project’s business, it was the CryptoZoo tokens that were the main source of profit. He also brought attention to the problem with the refund system, stating:

“There is a bit of an issue with that [refunding the NFTs]. Which is that the NFTs were only a small part of the sale. They actually weren’t even half, because people bought these tokens. So the people who bought the tokens get nothing.”
