“I was already expecting this” – Marat Grigorian knew he’d cross paths with Superbon again on the global stage
As the second-ranked featherweight kickboxing contender, Marat Grigorian claims that ONE Championship is where the most dangerous kickboxers reside, making rematches almost inevitable.
The Hemmers Gym affiliate will have a rematch with former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 58. This highly anticipated bout for the interim world title is sure to be filled with explosive action.
Their five-round battle is set to begin this Friday, April 5 at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium during Asia’s primetime hours.
Marat Grigorian acknowledges that the chance to face the Superbon Training Camp leader for the third time was not unexpected.
He relayed the message to Violent Money TV:
“Yes, I was already expecting this [fight] because there is no one left [in] this [division], and yeah, after we two both had a title fight, same goes for him, and now we are about [to fight for the third time]. So, it was a bit, yeah, I was expecting that.”

The hard-hitting Armenian striker is once again competing for the prestigious featherweight kickboxing title, marking his third attempt in the past three years.
Despite making his debut at ONE X in March 2022 and competing for the 26-pound gold, Marat Grigorian was unable to defeat Superbon. Despite a grueling five-round fight, the Thai fighter’s technical skill proved to be too much for his longtime rival.
Despite being the main event of ONE Fight Night 13 in August last year, the intensity of the fight did not diminish when he faced off against Chingiz Allazov, as it was very much the case.
Despite not succeeding in both attempts, Marat Grigorian’s determination to reach the top of the highly competitive division remains unwavering as he prepares for his highly anticipated rematch against Superbon, with the championship title at stake.
During an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, the 32-year-old mentioned:
“My goal is to be the world champion of ONE Championship. That’s the only goal in my mind. It means everything to me. I will do my best to get there.”
On April 5, this Friday, ONE Friday Fights 58 will be streamed live on watch.onefc.com in Asia during primetime, accessible through global pay-per-view.
