“I want to fight some bigger names” – Ben Tynan says beating Duke Didier elevates him to the heavyweight elite in ONE Championship

Ben Tynan is prepared for the major leagues.

This Friday, in his latest ONE Championship outing, the Canadian heavyweight sensation will have the opportunity to make a bold move when he takes on Australian fighter Duke Didier at ONE Fight Night 21. The fight will be broadcast live during U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

During a conversation with ONE Championship, Tynan shared his desire to climb the ranks and compete against Anatoly Malykhin for the ONE heavyweight MMA world title.

Ben Tynan is confident that a victory over Didier in Bangkok will bring him one step closer to the throne, despite still having a way to go. This win would also greatly improve his chances of becoming a world title contender.

He addressed ONE Championship, saying:

“Oh man, I think a good finish here will kind of [elevate me]. I want to fight some bigger names, for sure. I will fight some of the top heavyweights here in ONE. I really want to fight on the ONE card here in Denver, too, I think that’d be pretty sick. So that’s something I want to be pushing for. I’ll beat this Australian up, and then get ready for a fight here in Denver.”

Tynan has a flawless record of 5-0 in the professional arena and recently made an impressive debut at ONE Fight Night 16, where he defeated South Korean powerhouse Kang Ji Won by submission in the third round.

Tynan possesses a naturally entertaining demeanor, showcasing an aggressive wrestling-focused approach in the cage and a flamboyant persona outside of it.

The Canadian athlete possesses an exuberant personality that he intends to showcase at Ball Arena during the ONE Championship event, ONE 168: Denver on September 6.

Ben Tynan confident in his ability to defeat triple-champion Anatoly Malykhin

Ben Tynan does not lack confidence, which is almost a necessity for any professional fighter.

‘Vanilla Thunder’ exudes a level of confidence that rivals anyone in the sport. He firmly believes in his abilities and is convinced that he has what it takes to defeat Anatoly Malykhin.

The Russian superstar is virtually invincible and holds the titles of the ONE middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight MMA world champion.

Despite Tynan’s belief that he has the necessary skills to defeat ‘Sladkiy,’ he remains confident in his abilities. Tynan stated:

“He’s a pretty small guy. No, I think I could beat him up, but I also think I beat most of these guys up.”

The live broadcast of ONE Fight Night 21 is accessible at no cost to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
