During his interview with Michelle Miller, he discussed his new book, The Accomplice, and shared insights about his close friendship with Eminem, including a memorable incident where Eminem declined a proposed joint tour.
50 Cent revealed that he had suggested a world tour with Eminem, envisioning performances on major arena stages. He also mentioned the possibility of having Dr. Dre join them on select dates, aiming to create what he believed would be the “biggest tour in the world.”However, Eminem reportedly turned down the offer, prioritizing his daughter Haile Jade’s childhood during that time.
50 Cent reflected on Eminem’s decision, saying:
” I thought he was crazy because I was like, ‘He just don’t want to go.’ ‘Cause I was trying to convince him to go on the tour at that point.”
Fast forward to Haile Jade’s wedding in May 2024, 50 Cent expressed that he finally understood Eminem’s choice. He acknowledged their evolving lives and candidly shared that the emotional moment brought him to tears at the wedding.
“The first night I met him, he had an event” – 50 Cent reminisces about meeting Eminem
On September 2, 2024, during an episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game, 50 Cent recounted his first encounter with Eminem, describing it as “wild.”He humorously stated that it felt reminiscent of being on MTV’s Punk’d, anticipating someone to exclaim “You’ve been Punk’d.”At that time, he wore his iconic bulletproof vest, and he recalled:
” I get there, he’s like, ‘Yo!’ Hugs me, feel the vest and sh– and was like [shocked expression]. [I said,] ‘Yo, this is going to be the biggest sh– ever, right?’ He’s like, ‘Yo, so excited.’ It made me question whether what was happening was right. It felt so good that it couldn’t be right.”
He elaborated:
“I’m like, ‘Yo, nah.’ When I left that meeting, I didn’t want him to feel like he bought a problem so I wouldn’t say anything about Ja Rule and them.”
50 Cent’s mention of Ja Rule refers to the well-known feud that occurred in the early 2000s, during which Ja Rule voiced his dissatisfaction in a diss track about Eminem and Dr. Dre signing 50 Cent to their label.
Further reminiscing about his first meeting with Eminem, the Many Men rapper remarked:
” When I met him, the first night I met him, he had an event. The Marshall Mathers LP just came out. The first week he sold 1.7 million records. And he was so excited about me that I’m looking like, ‘[Are] you serious?’”
In other news, 50 Cent is set to release a documentary on Diddy, which will be available for streaming on Netflix. In a December 2023 interview with Variety, the rapper referred to the documentary as “a story with deep human impact.”
