“I think I could beat him up” – Canadian star Ben Tynan says he can get the upper hand against three-division king Anatoly Malykhin
Ben Tynan may be in the early stages of his ONE Championship career, but he already exudes a boundless sense of self-assurance.
The Canadian’s larger-than-life persona was a constant presence, and if his wish is granted, it could easily make its way into the Circle.
Tynan expressed in an interview with ONE Championship that he possesses the necessary skills to not only challenge Anatoly Malykhin, but also emerge victorious against the formidable three-division world champion.
According to Ben Tynan, Malykhin’s height of 5-foot-11 makes him unsuitable for the heavyweight division. However, Tynan is confident that he possesses the necessary tools to defeat the current ONE world champion in the middleweight, light heavyweight, or heavyweight categories.
“He seems like a nice guy, and I think he’s pretty small to be a heavyweight. He’s definitely as tough as nails. But yeah, I don’t even know what he’s going to do and how he holds three belts. If he comes back to heavyweight, that’d be great.”
Tynan stated:
“But yeah, he’s a pretty small guy. No, I think I could beat him up, but also I think beat most of these guys up.”
Despite standing four inches taller than the triple-champ, the 6-foot-3 Tynan still has a long way to go before he can challenge Malykhin for the heavyweight MMA throne. He must continue to string together multiple wins if he hopes to ever dethrone the current champion.
If he successfully handles Australian fighter Duke Didier at ONE Fight Night 21 on April 5, during US primetime, at Bangkok’s renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, he will have the opportunity to achieve his goal.
Similar to all of ONE Championship’s events on Amazon, ONE Fight Night 21 is accessible for free and in real-time to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Ben Tynan Ready to Take on Duke Didier at ONE Fight Night 21
Despite already possessing the necessary personality to succeed in ONE Championship, Ben Tynan must focus on achieving a series of impressive victories in order to fully realize his immense potential.
If ‘Vanilla Thunder’ defeats Duke Didier at ONE Fight Night 21, he will secure his second win in the promotion and kick off the show.
During his conversation with ONE Championship, he stated:
“When I got into fights, I don’t concern myself too much with the opponent. I watched some tape, I’ve seen his strengths, and sure he’s maybe improved in some spots, but I’ve been improving every single day, and the team and coaches I’ve got here have got me really confident in my skills.”
