“I send him a text like that every day”: Al B. Sure! opens up on his equation with son after making a social media plea

On March 28, 2024, Al B. Sure! (also known as Albert Joseph Brown III), a singer, songwriter, radio show host, and record producer-executive, posted a message on Instagram dedicated to his son Quincy Brown.

“#LettertoMySon! Come Home. The [door emoji] is wide open. You’re safe here son! I Love You, Popz, Your Biological [fist emoji] @Transplants4All,” Sure! wrote alongside an image of him and Quincy.

The day after the social media post, Al B. Sure! also made an appearance at the Equal Justice Now Awards in Los Angeles. During a brief interview outside the venue, he told TMZ that his post was not out of the ordinary and continued to stand by his statement.

“I send him a text like that every day.”

The post was made following the Homeland Security Investigation’s raids on two of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles. Despite being born to Al B. Sure! and the late Kim Porter, Quincy Brown was raised in the presence of Diddy (his mother’s former partner) and sees him as a paternal figure.

Uncovering Al B. Sure!’s thoughts on his son Quincy Brown

Not long ago, Al B. Sure! used Instagram to urge his 32-year-old son Quincy Brown to return home and assured him that his door would always be open, as he was his biological father.

On the following day, he attended an awards ceremony in Los Angeles where he revealed that he is currently developing a new project about his life. This project will reveal previously unknown details about the two-month-long coma he experienced in November 2022.

“Finally, we are going to be producing the Al B. Sure! life story. So, hold on to your britches, and you will really understand how I ended up in a coma. You are really gonna need to call Homeland Security,” Sure! mentioned.

Following the event, the Honey I’m Home singer also had a conversation with TMZ. He stated that he did not comment on “another man’s actions”when inquired about Diddy’s current legal issues.

“I do care about my son… I just spoke to him actually, hung up the phone with him. He’s actually filming. I am so proud of him… doing so much amazing stuff. So, of course, the metaphor is very simple. My door is always open and is the safe [space] for my child, my grown man. No longer a child. It’s the same thing,” Al B. Sure! explained.

The 55-year-old New Yorker also expressed his view that the Diddy situation was “unfortunate.”He emphasized the importance of keeping everyone involved in “prayers”and providing support to help them feel “uplifted”during these “difficult times.”He also mentioned that individuals must take responsibility for their actions and handle the situations they find themselves in.

When questioned about his relationship with his children, particularly Quincy Brown, Al B. Sure! expressed that his sons Albert, Devin, and Quincy were all “wonderful.”He also shared that he was “happy”and in a “truly amazing place”with them.

The artist known for his hit Forever My Lady also used the occasion to address those on social media who had caused a commotion over his post, clarifying that it was simply a father expressing his love for his son. He added, “I make a point to send him a message like this every day. If you follow his new platform, you’ll see why.”

Quincy Brown, who was given his name by his father after his godfather Quincy Jones, was brought up by Diddy as a member of his own family when his mother, actress-singer Kim Porter, started a relationship with the mogul of Bad Boy Records.

According to reports, Quincy views Diddy as a father figure and affectionately calls him “Pops” . He had the opportunity to grow up with both sides of his family, including his biological father Al B. Sure!
