“I Need Therapy”— Bre Tiesi Reflects on Selling Sunset Season 8 Drama

Netflix premiered season 8 of Selling Sunset on September 6, 2024, featuring all 11 episodes of this gripping reality series. Known for its dramatic twists and emotional conflicts, the show follows the lives of the real estate brokers at the Oppenheim Group.

This latest season showcased familiar faces like Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Bre Tiesi, Nicole Young, and new addition Alanna Whittaker Gold, alongside twins Jason and Brett Oppenheim, the founders of the Oppenheim Group.

Bre Tiesi was at the center of much of the season’s drama, particularly following revelations about Chelsea Lazkani’s marriage. A confidential source disclosed that Bre confronted Chelsea regarding her husband’s infidelity. In an interview with US Weekly on October 4, Bre spoke candidly about the profound emotional strain she experienced while filming the season, suggesting she may need professional help to cope.

“I need therapy. I need a fifth of Vodka. It’s a lot and honestly, it’s really taxing. People don’t really understand,” Bre admitted.

Bre emphasized that while they are in the entertainment industry and thrive on conflicts that captivate viewers, the psychological impact of these situations can be overwhelming. She also highlighted that the cast is often unaware of the topics selected for filming by producers, which can result in them experiencing what she referred to as “a lot of PTSD”upon viewing the final edits of the show.

What caused the rift between Bre and Chelsea in Selling Sunset season 8?

Bre joined Selling Sunset in 2023 and expressed a desire to avoid drama at the beginning of season 8. Despite a strained relationship with Chelsea, both women attempted to remain civil during their interactions.

However, during a get-together with her friend Amanda Lynn, Bre learned through Amanda that Chelsea’s husband, Jeff Lazkani, was seen becoming too friendly with another person, according to a trusted source. This sparked tension that lasted throughout the entire season, culminating in Bre informing Chelsea about the situation, despite her initial reluctance.

Chelsea accused Bre of deliberately raising a sensitive issue on camera to stir up drama. Feeling hurt, she expressed disappointment that Bre had not approached her privately about the matter—something she had hoped would happen off the Selling Sunset set. In contrast, Bre contended that she was uninvolved in Chelsea’s personal affairs and unaware that Amanda would disclose such information in front of the cameras. Bre clarified:

“So I have the power to set up a scene? It was Amanda’s decision. None of you would know if I didn’t tell you. So who really had Chelsea’s back from the jump? First of all, I told you I was filming with Amanda. I gave you all the heads-up in advance and you guys were like, ‘OK.’”

The ongoing conflict between Bre and Chelsea strained Bre’s relationships with fellow cast members Chrishell and Emma as well. In the interview, Bre expressed that she stood by her decisions regarding Chelsea and had no regrets.

“I said what I said. Do I wish it could have possibly gone different and Chelsea could just not be Chelsea? Yes. But here we are,”Bre stated.

Bre acknowledged that while she can’t control the actions of others, she could only be accountable for her own. Reflecting on Chrishell’s decision to side with Chelsea during the turmoil, Bre reaffirmed her affection for Chrishell and acknowledged their prior bond before Bre’s arrival on the show.
