During an appearance on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Daisy Kent, the runner-up of The Bachelor season 28, shared her thoughts on her relationship with the Bachelor, Joey Graziadei. Daisy opened up about the lack of connection between them, discussing it in depth.
“I just felt like there was something always missing between us. And I think for a period of the show, I just kind of ignored it.”
Daisy’s admission occurred following the end of the March 25th season, during which Joey proposed to Kelsey A, leaving Daisy as the second-place finisher. During the podcast, she revealed that she had been feeling unsettled since the hometown visits and had attempted to ignore those feelings while remaining optimistic.

During the podcast, Daisy Kent remembered the previous rose ceremony on March 11 where Rachel was eliminated. She mentioned feeling a strong connection between Joey and Kelsey after the ceremony and had a sense that there was “energy”between them. She then stated,
“And I was like, ‘I don’t think it’s me,’ for a second. I remember thinking that, and then I remember I broke down crying and they both hugged me.”
Daisy revealed that her feeling of missing connection began when Joey came to visit her parents. Unfortunately, she was unable to have a conversation with him as her parents had their turn to speak with him. The following day, she woke up with anxiety and a strong intuition that something was amiss.
Despite Daisy’s efforts to block things out, she couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling that ultimately led her to confront Kelsey in the finale episode.

Daisy broke things off with Joey in the finale episode after realizing his final decision during a confrontation with Kelsey A. She then confided in Kelsey, and the two women rode together to the proposal site, hand in hand.
Daisy’s actions in the final episode were a true reflection of her deep friendship with Kelsey A. She explained that she chose to speak with Kelsey before the final decision because she recognized the strong bond between them and Joey. She wanted to make sure that they were aware of her unwavering support and genuine happiness for them.
Daisy Kent emphasized on the podcast that there was much more to her and Kelsey’s discussion than what viewers saw on TV. This was done intentionally to maintain the tension leading up to Joey’s ultimate decision. Revealing details of their conversation before arriving at the proposal location, Daisy shared,
“Just talking about how I was feeling, talking about how she was feeling, talking about [how] we want the best for each other and me saying, ‘He’s not my person. I know he’s your person.’ She knew it was her and she knew it wasn’t me. And she said, ‘I’ve been worried about you all week because I felt that it was going to be me.”
Despite Daisy Kent’s honesty winning over many hearts and earning her a fan following, she declined the offer to become the next Bachelorette during the After the Final Rose episode. This decision came after it was announced that Jenn Tran would be taking on the role instead.
