Despite being the reigning and undisputed ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion, Stamp Fairtex is well aware that she cannot underestimate her next opponent. This is especially true since she and Denice Zamboanga used to be teammates. The 26-year-old Thai megastar believes that underestimating Zamboanga would be a grave error.

In a recent interview with YouTube channel The MMA Superfan, Stamp spoke about Zamboanga’s evolution as a fighter over the years and emphasized that she should not be underestimated.

The individual, who is 26 years old, stated:

“I feel like it’s a bit difficult. I feel like I know her, but I know she has also changed and improved a lot in the past few years. I feel like I just have to be careful in terms of thinking that I know her.”

Despite Zamboanga being based in Thailand while training at Fairtex in Pattaya years ago, the two atomweights were training partners and quickly formed a strong bond. Even though they are now preparing to face each other in a fight, their friendship remains unbreakable.

Stamp Fairtex Supports Denice Zamboanga’s Decision to Leave Fairtex

Despite never openly discussing it, Stamp Fairtex always knew that her friend Denice Zamboanga had to depart from Fairtex a few years back. As she reflects on it now at 26 years old, she understands that their lifelong bond as best friends was meant to be tested in the ring.

Stamp informed The MMA Superfan:

“I think to pursue her goal and her dream of becoming the first Filipina world champion, I think she made the right decision to leave Fairtex, because if she didn’t, we wouldn’t be able to face each other if she’s still here.”
