The latest episode of Dancing with the Stars premiered on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, featuring seven couples who returned to the dance floor for a spooky Halloween-themed competition. Each pair aimed to elevate their performances from the previous week in a bid to avoid elimination and secure their places in the next stages of this intense dance show.
In this episode’s format, the contestants tackled two rounds of competition. The first round involved them showcasing their unique routines inspired by their deepest fears, while the second round saw them facing off in intense dance duels. Winners of these head-to-head matches were rewarded with additional points that would contribute to their scores from the judges.
Despite many striving to give their all and advance further in the competition, not everyone succeeded. Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber ended up at the bottom of the voting tally and were ultimately eliminated. The remaining contestants, including Dwight, Danny, Chandler, Joey, Ilona, and Stephen, moved on to the next stage.
Fans of Dancing with the Stars expressed their dissatisfaction with this outcome. While many were sad to see The Bachelorette depart, a significant number took to X to voice their frustration about Jenn’s elimination over Dwight’s, believing Jenn had shown greater improvement throughout the season.
“DWIGHT SHOULD’VE GONE HOME. JENN WAS ACTUALLY IMPROVING GOD I HATE THIS,”one fan expressed.
“jenn actually dances and ate tf up meanwhile dwight is still here for giving nothing but whatever,”another fan remarked.
“DWTS making me ready to go to WAR. Jenn deserved to stay longer,”a netizen tweeted.
Many viewers were taken aback by the decision, arguing that Jenn’s talent and growth surpassed that of her competitors.
“Jenn my love you didn’t deserve this. I voted for you every week. It should’ve been Dwight,”one user commented.
“Because y’all voted Dwight through, we lost Jenn. We cannot let the rest of this season go this way – we need to vote TALENT,”another viewer pointed out.
“jenn deserves better. it was dwight’s time to go,”another fan stated.
“not a big sasha fan but jenn had consistent improvement and STILL went home. but dwight hadn’t gotten a single dance since the premiere right until tonight and he stayed???”a user tweeted.
Numerous supporters of the show were dismayed, feeling that Jenn was not given a fair chance to remain.
“jenn was improving so much like poor girl got her first 9 AND 10 tonight and she’s being sent home i can’t even,”one user reacted.
“jenn getting brutally dumped on live tv after her engagement and now getting eliminated why too early from dancing with the stars…. SHAME. SHAMMEEE,”another commenter added.
Dancing with the Stars alum Jenn Tran earns her first 10 on Halloween Nightmares
During the Halloween special, Jenn embraced the role of a vampire in a contemporary dance performance with Sasha to Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire.”Before taking the stage, Jenn consulted with Alyson Hannigan, known from Buffy, who offered tips on channeling the vampire persona.
“I’ve dated a lot of vampires in my past, sucking the energy out of me,”Jenn humorously shared before her meeting with Alyson.
Alyson humorously warned the judges to score Jenn above an eight or face her vampire wrath. On the dance floor, Jenn delivered a captivating performance, showcasing smooth and precise movements, which left a lasting impression on the judges.
Bruno Tonioli commended Jenn, stating she was “on top of it all the way through.”
“You were actually in charge of the dance and you won it, darling,”he enthusiastically added.
Derek Hough echoed Bruno’s sentiments, moved by the “amazing”choreography. He praised Jenn for maintaining her character throughout the performance and expressed his admiration for her journey with Sasha. Jenn ultimately received a score of 10 from Carrie Ann Inaba, alongside 9s from Derek and Bruno, totaling 28 out of 30.
Although Jenn triumphed in her dance-off against Olympic superstar Stephen, she was nonetheless eliminated due to the lowest vote count. However, she expressed gratitude for her time on the show and the connections she made. Reflecting on her partnership with Sasha, she remarked:
“We spent the past seven weeks attached at the hip…I can’t even imagine a life without Sasha at this point, and I didn’t even know him seven weeks ago!”
