“I Felt Calm and at Peace” — Chrisean Rock Discusses Her First Night in Jail Following Release from Prison

American rapper Chrisean Rock was arrested during Blueface’s court hearing in August 2024 and had a warrant for her arrest since March 2024. The legal issues surrounding Chrisean stem from her 2022 arrest, which occurred during a traffic stop where law enforcement discovered drugs in her vehicle.

On September 7, 2024, Chrisean Rock was briefly released, allowing her to meet her son, Chrisean Malone Jr, just days after his first birthday. Reflecting on her first night in jail during an interview with Pastor Jamal Bryant, Chrisean shared:

“I was calm and I was at peace. I didn’t cry, I knew I had to take care of my responsibilities and obligations with my legal matters. I just asked God for that place to be a spiritual hospital because I felt like I was dragging the Holy Spirit everywhere I went.”

She elaborated:

“Doing the most, and the Holy Spirit was grieving, and I didn’t have the strength to pull away from things, people, and situations.”

“I don’t have an appetite for confusing things” – Chrisean Rock tells Pastor Jamal Bryant

In her conversation with Pastor Jamal Bryant, Chrisean Rock expressed her aspirations to achieve peace by adhering to the principles of purity, obedience, and following God’s word. When asked where she sees herself in five years, Chrisean paused before saying she envisions herself walking confidently in her purity.

Chrisean also offered advice to women aspiring to enter the entertainment industry, noting that they don’t need to change their true selves but should consider a transformation, a nod to her faith. She stated:

“All the glory belongs to God. If you choose music, do it for the Lord. If teaching, hopefully it involves Bible verses and saves souls.”

Next, Pastor Jamal Bryant inquired what title she would give her biopic, to which she responded, “God’s plan.”The pastor also questioned her choice to move away from drug use, highlighting Chrisean’s disinterest in her previous habits of alcohol consumption and marijuana use. She remarked:

“I don’t have an appetite for confusing things.”

Chrisean mentioned that she has been out of drugs for a considerable time, yet she emphasized that many people feel helpless. She noted that while individuals may believe they can handle their issues alone, they ultimately seek strength from the “word of God” rather than from the world.

Furthermore, Chrisean Rock articulated her ambition to transition from producing “worldly music”to embracing gospel music, which she refers to as the “hood gospel.”

Chrisean Rock was incarcerated at the Craig County Detention Center. According to XXL, the rapper faces charges for failure to affix a tax stamp on controlled dangerous substances (CDS) as well as possession of CDS with the intent to distribute. If convicted on both charges, Chrisean could face up to eight years in prison.

While Chrisean is currently out of jail, her estranged partner, Blueface, who is the father of her child, is serving a four-year prison sentence for violating parole. Notably, Chrisean was arrested at a court hearing for Blueface that she attended in San Fernando Valley, California.
