“I don’t try to protect my record” – Undefeated Jonathan Di Bella says he hasn’t had an easy fight thoughout kicboxing career

In the current era of combat sports, it is the norm to strive for and maintain a flawless record. However, Jonathan Di Bella, the ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion, does not conform to this trend. In fact, he does not place importance on it.

During a recent interview with the South China Morning Post, Di Bella discussed his approach to fighting and expressed his desire to avoid selecting easy opponents in order to accumulate easy victories.

The star from Canada and Italy clarified:

“I always always focus on winning and one fight at a time. I realy don’t care about records. I don’t try to protect my record. I don’t try to fight easy fights. I always try to fight the best so it doesn’t matter who it is in front of me, I always want to win.”

Jonathan Di Bella has maintained a perfect record of 2 wins and 0 losses in the world’s biggest martial arts organization since joining in 2022 and securing the title of the first-ever ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion.

The Team Di Bella Kickboxing representative defeated both Zhang Peimian and Danial Williams by unanimous decision in October 2022 and October 2023, respectively, victimizing them in the process.

Prior to joining ONE Championship, he had already achieved a flawless kickboxing record of 10-0.

Jonathan Di Bella Determined to Defend His World Title

Despite being recognized as one of the top kickboxers in the world, Jonathan Di Bella is not content with his current status. His ultimate goal is to become a reigning world champion, defending his 26-pound golden belt numerous times.

The 27-year-old athlete’s pursuit of this goal persists as he prepares to take on ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai in the co-main event of ONE Friday Fights 58 on April 5 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
