“I Don’t Owe Anyone an Explanation” – Tyler from Love Is Blind Addresses Backlash Over His Past

The seventh season of Love is Blind made its debut on Netflix on October 2, 2024, showcasing a fresh group of singles from America eager to explore love through an unconventional social experiment.

Among the couples, Tyler and Ashley made headlines after getting engaged outside of the pods. They celebrated their engagement with a honeymoon in Mexico alongside other engaged contestants. However, their journey faced a challenge when Tyler disclosed being a sperm donor and having three children. Ashley felt let down by Tyler’s delayed revelation of such a crucial detail about his life.

On October 14, Tyler shared some exclusive behind-the-scenes images from the show on Instagram. A comment from a follower pointed out that his statement regarding his children not knowing his appearance was a deliberate decision.

“People can say a lot of stuff but ultimately saying that you don’t think the children know what you look like was a choice and I’m very interested in that explanation.”

In his reply, Tyler remarked:

“I don’t owe anyone an explanation. But just for laughs, the discussion was longer than what was aired, and many conversations occurred off camera.”

Tyler and Ashley Navigate Parenting Discussions

Despite a strong initial bond characterized by open communication, Tyler and Ashley’s relationship faced difficulties after Tyler’s disclosure about being a sperm donor to aid his best friend and her wife in starting a family.

Both Tyler and Ashley have kept details about the ongoing controversy under wraps. Following the airing of episode 9 on October 9, which featured the discussion about Tyler’s donor past, he restricted comments on his Instagram.

In a conversation with E! News that coincided with the episode’s release, Tyler expressed that he harbors “no regrets”about his actions during the series, asserting he wouldn’t change a single moment of his pod experience.

Reflecting on his conversations with Ashley concerning his past, he noted:

“There might have been a couple of dialogues better placed at some point, but who’s to say? I won’t dwell on changing the past… I’m focused on the present.”

Ashley has also restricted comments on her social media profile and has opted for silence regarding the situation. Nevertheless, she did come to Tyler’s defense when a commenter alleged there was “proof”about his past.

The fan labeled Tyler as “foul”and referred to him as “a whole daddy,”accusing him of owing money to various women. Ashley replied:

“Do you personally know him to spread such defamatory remarks about my castmate? No matter the choices I make, I will prioritize my well-being, just as I’m sure you do in your life. Here’s something to ponder: be cautious of social media and the so-called unverified ‘proof’ you reference. I hope you choose kindness as you move forward.”

All episodes (1-11) of Love is Blind season 7 are now streaming on Netflix.
