For those who are unfamiliar, Song Joong Ki played the main role in the widely acclaimed K-drama Vincenzo. The hit show, which premiered in 2021, tells the story of Vincenzo Cassano, an Italian-Korean attorney who was adopted by a mafia family in Italy.

Vincenzo’s approach to handling the conglomerate fiasco involved dispensing justice and ensuring that those involved received a taste of their own medicine. The drama also featured Song Joong-ki, along with Jeon Yeo-been and Ok Taec-yeon.

In the meantime, the ongoing drama Queen of Tears continues to chronicle the journey of Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), the heiress of a South Korean conglomerate who is struggling with a brain tumor. As her condition worsens and she experiences more intense hallucinations and memory loss, her doctors deliver the devastating news that she only has three months to live.

At the same time, Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), Hae-in’s husband, is dissatisfied with their marriage due to their separate bedrooms and lack of communication. But when he finds out about her terminal illness, his anger and bitterness towards her gradually fade away. Throughout the eight episodes, the show portrays the couple’s struggles to remain united, despite facing numerous obstacles.

As a result, the appearance of Song Joong-ki in episode 8 contributed to the show’s consistently high viewership ratings since its premiere on March 9. According to Newsen, the production team of Queen of Tears also conveyed their appreciation to Song Joong-ki for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit them.

“We are grateful to actor Song Joong-ki, who willingly took the time to come to us despite his busy schedule. There was a lot of admiration on the set for the charm of actor Song Joong-ki, who has an aura that overwhelms all directions with just his brief appearance.”

Vincenzo also mentioned his desire to make a lasting impact with his guest appearance on Queen of Tears.

“I plan to leave a strong impression with a role that exceeds everyone’s expectations.”
