“I Am a Genuine Woman” — Nour from Love is Blind: Habibi Confronts Mido at the Reunion
On Friday, November 1, 2024, the highly anticipated reunion episode of Love is Blind: Habibi was aired, reuniting cast members along with hosts Khaled Saqer and Elham Ali. During the episode, participants revisited their experiences on the reality show, delving into past tensions and the various conflicts that arose within the pods. Despite their intentions to resolve lingering issues, many discussions escalated into fiery disagreements.
At the reunion, former couple Nour and Mido confronted each other, commencing their dialogue with a palpable bitterness. Mido expressed regret over their pairing, deeming it a choice he would not make again. He articulated his disapproval of Nour’s fixation on aesthetics and material wealth, even suggesting that her behavior made her resemble a “product”on screen.
Mido criticized Nour for what he perceived as her obsession with trivial matters. In response to his claim that she diminished her own worth through her on-screen persona, Nour stood firm, unwilling to let his remarks tarnish her image.
“I am an authentic woman. What I present on camera truly reflects who I am,”Nour asserted.
Nour explained her background, noting she was raised in an environment where financial worries were nonexistent and her needs were always catered to. As a result, she admitted to expecting similar treatment from her romantic partners.
“Today’s men expect a princess treatment”— Nour from Love is Blind: Habibi critiques Mido’s treatment of her
Mido branded Nour as his “mistake,”calling out her obsession with material things. He felt she diminished herself by expecting her partner to meet financial expectations. Nour, unimpressed by his viewpoint, suggested that his attitude revealed his true values.
Clarifying her stance, Nour emphasized that there’s a significant difference between a “cheap girl”and one who recognizes her worth and has clear standards. She expressed that she held “specific expectations”for her life and aligned her actions accordingly. In her view, Mido projected his insecurities onto her.
“I know my worth. It seems like today’s men are out of touch, expecting us to play the princess role while forgetting their own responsibilities,”Nour expressed.
Nour admitted her privileged upbringing, where she never had to worry about finances. She perceived it as a “minimum expectation”for her husband to pamper her in the same way her parents did. Nonetheless, Mido disagreed with this notion.
Mido retorted, calling Nour out for her negative remarks about him once the experiment concluded. He argued that anyone with a sense of “morality and ethics”wouldn’t label him as less than a man. To further his point, Mido suggested that Nour’s beauty was “not natural.”
“I’m courageous enough to acknowledge I made a mistake in choosing her. It’s abnormal to pick a housewife who simply wants to be spoiled. She doesn’t grasp the true essence of being spoiled,”Mido stated.
Nour rebutted that beauty should not define worth; instead, character matters. She stated she held two degrees and spoke three languages, arguing that limiting her identity solely to her modeling career was shallow and unfair. Nour positioned herself as a unique blend of beauty and intellect.
Mido then drew comparisons between her behavior towards him and towards Chafic, noting that she gifted Chafic a scented book while he only received a plate of fruits and some cheese prepared by Safa. He accused her of using him merely to reach the resort and meet Chafic, to which Chafic chimed in, stating Nour was on the lookout for an “ATM machine”rather than genuine affection.
As tensions escalated, the hosts intervened, attempting to cool down the heated atmosphere. Nour expressed her shock at the disrespect shown, asserting that reconciliation with Mido was out of the question.
“They crossed a significant boundary,”she remarked.
