Hyundai Motor Securities predicts HYBE K-pop group comebacks and releases for 2024 including a BTS world tour in 2025

According to Hyundai Motor Securities, BTS is expected to release a solo album in the second quarter of 2024, while TXT, SEVENTEEN, NewJeans, and Enhypen also have highly anticipated comebacks. On March 29, 2024, BTS’ J-Hope released his second solo album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1, along with a docuseries of the same title, marking the beginning of a new era for the group’s members as solo artists.

Moreover, the South Korean media outlet projected that HYBE would experience a significant increase in revenue by 2025 due to an upcoming world tour by BTS. This projection takes into account the fact that the group was forced to cancel their 2020 MAP OF THE SOUL tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

BTS, the largest boy band and a global K-pop sensation, has fans eagerly anticipating their return from military service and the launch of their world tour.

Based on Hyundai Motor Securities’ estimation, HYBE’s operational profit in the first quarter of this year is expected to decrease by 62.9% compared to the previous year, reaching 19.5 billion won.

Despite the reemergence of key players, Hyundai Motor Securities projected that there would only be a modest 8.3% increase in annual sales and a mere 1.5% rise in operating profit due to the profit decline in the first quarter.

According to Kim Hyun-yong, a researcher at Hyundai Motor Securities, HYBE’s revenue is expected to experience another significant increase with the start of the NewJeans Global Tour in 2024 and the BTS Full Global Tour in 2025, both of which are scheduled to begin next year.

The return of BTS also served as evidence of the expected significant growth in the size of their stadium tour, which had to be delayed in 2020 due to the coronavirus.

Kim Hyun-yong stressed that although 2.2 million people attended BTS’s previous tour, there is an expected maximum of 3 million attendees for the upcoming tour, which will consist of at least 50 performances.

According to a news release from NewJeans via their Phoning app, the debut single album, How Sweet, will be released on both May 24 and June 21. The album will feature the title track and the second song, Bubble Gum.

Afterward, the newly formed girl group from ADOR (managed by HYBE) will officially enter the Japanese market with the release of a single album featuring the tracks Right Now and Supernatural, the latter being the title track.

Both single CDs will contain instrumental versions of their two tracks.

Additionally, according to Hyundai Motor Securities, the main reason for HYBE’s 62.9% decline in operating profit during the first quarter of 2024 is attributed to a decrease in album sales of 29%, which is half of what was reported during the same period in 2023.

Despite being formed quickly, the fact that the two rookie teams came together so efficiently was still deemed a positive assessment.

In addition, it was predicted that the operational profit would significantly decline once the costs of introducing new members for TWS and ILLIT were factored in. ILLIT, a fifth-generation girl group, made their debut under BELIFT LABE (a HYBE subsidiary) with their EP Super Real Me, which was released on March 25, 2024.

Furthermore, Sparkling Blue, an extended play (EP), was released under Pledis Entertainment (operated under HYBE) on January 22, 2024, marking the debut of TWS.

TWS’s debut album is proving its enthusiasm with nearly reaching 500,000 copies in overall sales, while ILLIT’s first album shattered the record for the highest first-week sales of any girl group debut, shipping 380,000 copies within its first week.

The agency’s popular idol group SEVENTEEN is scheduled to make another comeback in the second quarter. The group will be releasing their highly anticipated album, 17 IS RIGHT HERE, on April 29, 2024, following a successful year in 2023 where they achieved a major milestone by winning their first Daesang at the 2023 MAMA Awards.

On April 3, 2023, SEVENTEEN shared their upcoming schedule on their verified social media account. To commemorate their comeback, the group is designing a special website featuring the same album domain name.

The much-anticipated album 17 WILL SOON BE AVAILABLE and the highly-anticipated music video for the lead single will be unveiled on April 29, 2024 at 6 PM KST.

Furthermore, before the album is released, they will also be sharing a track sampler and tracklist. GOING SVT SPECIAL, an interactive program specifically designed for their fans, is also one of the highlights on their agenda.

Furthermore, the third installment of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s 2024 comeback series, referred to as a “minisode,”will also be unveiled. Their debut track, Deja Vu, along with the appropriately titled mini-album TOMORROW, initially premiered in April 2024.

On April 4, 2024, Hyundai Motor Securities lowered its estimated price target for HYBE’s shares from 330,000 won (USD 243.93) to 280,000 won (USD 206.97).

The company predicted that the first quarter would see a significant decrease in operational profit due to reduced album sales and increased expenses associated with introducing new artists.
