Following the launch, Heart Machine shared its detailed roadmap, commencing with updates starting in February. The forthcoming patch, set to be released on February 18, will bring a new player character, additional Holobytes, a wider array of enemies, and unique Affixes. Alongside these additions, players can expect performance improvements and a slew of bug fixes designed to enhance gameplay and rebalance the current gear selection. Notably, this patch is also expected to initiate a combat rebalance.

In March, the team will introduce further refinements, continuing the rebalancing of combat dynamics and gear systems. Although a definitive release date has not been set, the March update plans to add new Blades, unique Affixes, Holobytes, and enemies, including the debut of a new character class known as the Assassin.

A major content drop is anticipated in April 2025 under the title “Buried Below.”This patch aims to enhance the player onboarding experience, potentially overhauling tutorial systems. Players can look forward to engaging with at least one additional Assassin, a roster of new enemies, and a fresh player character named Crown, alongside expanded exploration areas.

Beyond the spring timeline, Hyper Light Breaker is poised to grow with new gameplay features, formidable bosses, and elite enemies. Heart Machine is actively working on diversifying the game’s procedurally generated biomes and introducing additional elements such as Blades, Rails, and Amps. Development also includes more narrative content to provide a true ending experience, a new endgame difficulty mode, and an engaging progression system.
