Upon launching Hyper Light Breaker, many players often share a common concern: “How can I heal?”This guide aims to clarify that process for you.
You will notice a syringe icon beside your health indicator. However, the game does not effectively convey how to replenish your supplies, as you begin with only one Medkit.
Before delving into the details, it’s important to set your expectations. To gather additional Medkits, you might need to reset the game world more than once, possibly requiring extra materials as well.
Nonetheless, once you acclimate to the terminology used in the game, obtaining Medkits becomes straightforward—assuming the mechanics remain unchanged, as highlighted in a recent roadmap update. Let’s explore how to effectively secure these resources.
How to Drain Blood

At the beginning of each game session, you automatically receive one Medkit. However, for multiple heals during your journey through the expansive overgrowth, you will need Bright Blood.
This valuable resource can be acquired through defeating enemies, breaking crates, and by exploring various destructible objects scattered throughout the environment, allowing you to build a solid stockpile.
To completely refill a Medkit, you require 225 points of Bright Blood, which is a substantial amount since most runs yield only between 150-250 points. Boss encounters, however, can significantly increase your blood gains.
If you seek an efficient farming method, consider staying still for a while. This tactic ramps up the difficulty and causes more enemies to spawn, providing increased farming opportunities.
Unlocking Additional Medkits

At the game’s onset, your capacity is limited to a single Medkit. To expand this capacity, you must interact with Pherus Bit and explore the skill tree.
You can eventually acquire a maximum of two Medkits: the first available for free, and a second at the fourth skill level, both obtainable by spending Golden Rations after a world reset.
Gaining additional Medkit capacity takes several loops, reinforcing the idea that Medkits should be viewed as precious assets. Use them wisely!
Additionally, you can enhance your Medkit within the skill tree, increasing its healing potential from 75 to 83 points. This enhancement pairs particularly well with healing-centric Holobytes, though crafting remains necessary.
Acquiring Medkits

If you’ve encountered shrines and observed the option to “Craft Medkit”, it may seem like an appealing choice, yet it’s often redundant.
Your initial Medkit replenishment fully restores your count, so once you achieve that second upgrade, the Bright Blood cost associated with crafting typically doesn’t justify the effort.
Crafting at a shrine demands an initial 225 points of Bright Blood, with costs that increase exponentially with each additional attempt, making repeated crafting less advisable.
As a general gameplay tip, if you find yourself without Medkits and face the decision of crafting a new one, it’s often better to extract from your current run and regroup.
