“HYBE Struggles with Jinhit” — BTS’ Jin Discusses Personalized Solo Debut Schedule for ARMY Fans
BTS’ Jin Reflects on His Solo Journey After Military Service
On November 5, 2024, Jin, a member of the globally acclaimed group BTS, made a notable appearance on the South Korean talk show Salon Drip, broadcasted on the TEO YouTube channel. During the engaging segment, he opened up about various topics, including his recent military discharge, his much-anticipated solo album, and his evolving relationships with his fellow band members.
Overcoming Stage Fright and Embracing Solitude
In a candid discussion, Jin admitted feeling apprehensive about performing solo after returning from military service. He expressed his worries about standing on stage without the support of his fellow artists—Namjoon, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook. He stated:
“I performed the day after I was discharged on June 13th. Not being with my members made it scarier and more nerve-wracking… Initially, I struggled to fill the void, but eventually, I adapted and came to love it!”
Finding Liberation in Solo Projects
The talented singer-songwriter elaborated that once he adjusted to the dynamics of solo performances, he began to relish the creative freedom it afforded him. Jin remarked on the differences between collaborating with the band and pursuing solo endeavors:
“When performing with my members, there are numerous considerations—music and choreography must align perfectly. But on my own, I said, ‘Choreography? Not for me!’ and when faced with scheduling, I’d think, ‘Delete it!’ Ultimately, if fans desire something, I’ll consider it, but I can decide everything myself.”
Fans React Enthusiastically on Social Media
The response from BTS’s dedicated fanbase was swift and enthusiastic as they shared their thoughts online. Many expressed their delight over Jin’s refreshing approach to his solo artistry:

Upcoming Album and Speculations Among Fans
On October 19, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC unveiled a captivating concept clip for Jin’s upcoming album, titled “Happy.”Fans were quick to notice that the clip included a lyric sheet from BTS’s iconic track “Spring Day,”sparking discussions about possible connections to the band’s earlier discography.
Furthermore, following the release of the first visual clip on November 4, excitement escalated as fans speculated that “Happy”might draw narratives from BTS’s celebrated “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life”Trilogy, also known as HYYH, released between 2015 and 2016.
For those unfamiliar, HYYH, which translates to “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life,”encompasses a heartfelt exploration of youth, mental health, and friendship amidst hardship. The narrative of the HYYH series, starring all BTS members as young adults facing various struggles, has recently been adapted into a K-drama titled “Begin Youth,”released in April 2024 on the Xclusive OTT platform.
Currently, fan theories abound regarding “Happy”potentially being Jin’s creative reimagining of HYYH, offering an opportunity for a narrative with a more optimistic conclusion. This has heightened excitement for the album, set to be released globally on November 15, 2024.
