HYBE Launches First Global Integrated Audition for New Group, Evaluation by Eight Labels

HYBE Launches First Global Integrated Audition to Discover New Talent

On July 4, HYBE unveiled its first global integrated audition, marking a transformative step in how the entertainment powerhouse identifies and recruits emerging talent. This new approach streamlines the application process, offering aspiring artists a more accessible route to showcase their abilities.

Revolutionizing Talent Acquisition

The “HYBE MUSIC GROUP AUDITION”enables hopeful musicians to submit a single application that grants them consideration across all eight labels under the HYBE umbrella, including Big Hit Music, BELIFT LAB, Source Music, PLEDIS Entertainment, KOZ Entertainment, ADOR, and YX LABELS. This initiative departs from the previous method, where applicants were required to audition separately for individual labels. As highlighted in an official announcement on Friday, this streamlined process opens up new avenues for talent evaluation.

Application Details and Criteria

The audition welcomes applicants of all nationalities and genders, specifically those born in or after 2007. Candidates are encouraged to exhibit their skills in singing, dancing, or any other talents that showcase their unique artistic charm. The application window will be open from July 14 through September 7, allowing potential stars ample time to present their capabilities.

Notable Collaboration with Ryan Tedder

Adding to the significance of this audition is the involvement of Grammy-winning producer Ryan Tedder, known for his work with various HYBE artists including KATSEYE, &TEAM, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Tedder’s engagement is part of a larger collaborative effort with HYBE to develop a new boy group project, further emphasizing the company’s commitment to nurturing global talent.

Pop-Up Events in Japan

In conjunction with the audition, HYBE will host pop-up events in Tokyo, Japan, from August 27 to 30 at the MIL Gallery & MIL 2ND in Shibuya. These events aim to enhance talent discovery and provide interaction opportunities for prospective participants, as noted by Star News Korea.

Part of a Broader Strategy

This integrated audition aligns with HYBE’s “HYBE 2.0″strategy, designed to fortify its multi-label model and accelerate global outreach. To facilitate its music label operations in Korea and Japan, HYBE has established HYBE MUSIC GROUP APAC, with Young Jae Shin appointed as president.

Global Expansion and Success Stories

The recent announcement signals HYBE’s ongoing commitment to international growth, following the success of projects like KATSEYE, its first global girl group created in collaboration with Geffen Records. KATSEYE emerged from the Netflix series “Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE”and has already gained traction with popular singles like “Touch”and “Debut.”
