HYBE Introduces Online Portal for Fans to Report Violations and Malicious Content to Protect Artists’ Rights

On September 23, 2024, HYBE launched a new online platform dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of its artists, including prominent acts such as BTS, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, and others under the label.

This innovative portal enables fans to report violations, including defamatory posts and copyright infringements, addressing increasing concerns about online harassment and malicious content aimed at the label’s artists.

The initiative consolidates all previous reporting mechanisms, including BTS’s legal response hotline ([email protected]), into a singular system for enhanced efficiency.

The announcement was made on the Weverse community notice boards for each artist, as well as on HYBE’s official website. The label noted that the new portal, which can be accessed at protect.hybecorp.com, is designed to facilitate quicker and more systematic responses to reported violations. It stated:

“Hello. This is HYBE. We’ve launched a unified online portal for reporting violations of artists’ rights to safeguard the rights and well-being of our artists: protect.hybecorp.com. The website will replace existing legal response hotlines as we have integrated all artists’ reporting channels into a single unified system.”

The entertainment label encouraged fans to report any unlawful or harmful actions targeting their idols or groups, whether encountered online or otherwise. They further remarked:

“Please do not hesitate to submit your reports through our online portal. HYBE will always strive to ensure that our artists’ rights are fully protected.”

The company emphasized its commitment to continuously monitor and take legal action against malicious activities in real time, ensuring that all cases are handled rigorously.

The label also expressed gratitude to fans for their ongoing support, urging them to actively utilize the new platform to help safeguard artists’ rights.

HYBE Details Malicious Activities, Including AI Deepfake Abuse and Stalking, on Newly Launched Website

The entertainment label has introduced a portal where fans can report a range of malicious activities. This list includes defamation, rumors, misinformation, s*xual harassment, stalking, threats to artists’ safety, and the illegal sale of flight information.

A dedicated category has been established to address the increasing issue of AI-generated deepfakes, a serious cybercrime that has rapidly escalated in South Korea. In response, the South Korean government has also initiated legal proceedings to combat this problem. In their statement, HYBE noted:

“Notably, we have created a separate category to expedite our response to illegal p**nography, including AI-generated ‘deepfake’ sexual exploitation content, which has become a serious social issue in recent years. We actively monitor domestic and international platforms, including Telegram, X (formerly Twitter), and Discord, for deepfake-related material.”

They added that they will work alongside official government authorities to investigate reports received, both current and future. They stated:

“Additionally, we are seeking to strengthen our collaboration with relevant government agencies, including the Korea Communications Standards Commission and pertinent civic organizations.”

The portal also enables fans to report copyright infringements related to music, videos, and other forms of intellectual property associated with their artists.
