HWiNFO Expands Compatibility: Adding Support for RTX 5090 D V2 and Intel’s Nova Lake
Today marks the official launch of the GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 in the Chinese market. Announced just a week prior, this graphics card arrives following the ban of its predecessor, the RTX 5090 D, months ago. Although this new variant retains the same shader cores as the RTX 5090, it comes with downgraded specifications, including reduced VRAM capacity, a narrower memory bus, and lower memory bandwidth to comply with U. S.export regulations.

As outlined in the release notes for version 8.30, HWiNFO has added support for the RTX 5090 D V2, allowing users to monitor their GPU’s specifications accurately. Retailing at a starting price of around $2, 880, as listed by Colorful, the pricing mirrors that of its faster counterpart, the RTX 5090 D, continuing the trend of premium pricing in this segment.
In addition to the RTX 5090 D V2, the software has incorporated support for the RTX 5050, which was launched last month. Furthermore, HWiNFO has introduced early support for Intel’s next-generation Nova Lake processors, underscoring the company’s advancements in mainstream CPU technology. Although the Nova Lake series was previously mentioned in HWiNFO’s February release notes of last year, this latest entry suggests ongoing development and refinement.
Anticipated to be released next year for both desktop and mobile platforms, Intel’s Nova Lake is rumored to feature configurations with up to 52 cores, along with developments regarding the Nova Lake AX line, which is said to enhance L3 cache significantly. However, these specifics remain unconfirmed. Our ongoing analysis follows Intel’s progress, particularly with their mobile chips spanning configurations from as few as six cores to a robust 28 cores within the HX family.
